BBC Radio Devon DJ David Lowe loses job over "N" word. , by Deleted on May 12, 2014 9:57:15 GMT 1, I should have read the article this morning, instead of at 2am. ;-) I still seems the BBC made the guys 'stress' worse by originally letting him go. Sad state of affairs if you ask me.

BBC Radio Devon DJ David Lowe loses job over "N" word. , by Deleted on May 12, 2014 15:59:55 GMT 1, It's all a sad and very silly state of affairs.
Everyone knows the song 'The sun has got his hat on' but who would ever have thought the original version contained that word in it?

BBC Radio Devon DJ David Lowe loses job over "N" word. , by johnnyh on May 12, 2014 20:17:09 GMT 1, To be fair though he is a DJ so it is actually his profession to know what he is playing. So one could say he is either ignorant or stupid.....possibly a combination of both as it also was his choice to p,ay it as otherwise if a play list given to him then it would have technically been someone else's fault. So hard to feel sorry when he chose to play it. Daft as it may seem

Do you really think that?
The PC brigade have gone completely loopy.
maybe we should ban all books written before June 30th 1995, in case something in one of them offends someone

BBC Radio Devon DJ David Lowe loses job over "N" word. , by johnnyh on May 13, 2014 2:05:11 GMT 1, I am not saying he should be sacked etc have no real view on that either way. Just saying as a DJ it's his job to know what he plays and it's connotations etc.
Obviously somebody found it offensive. I do not make the PC racism or sexism rules however if your in public broadcasting etc you should know your content.
There may well be a list of these type of tunes etc. if he has unfairly been dismissed the rules are just as PC as the ones that got him fired. So the PC rules work both ways. Just saying if you play records as your job and you choose the records you should know the content..
