World Cup and Charity Sweepstake, by Warm Gun on Jun 15, 2014 10:54:49 GMT 1, I remember 4 years ago, just before the last world cup, when Rooney openly chatted about him being amongst the top three strikers in the world with Ronaldo and Messi. He was utter s**te in that tournament and he'll be s**te in this one. Other than the cross for the goal I fail to see what he actually contributed other than executing THE worst corner set piece that I have EVER seen or will ever see. We can't really say that he was playing out of position either as like the worlds most boring commentator, Phil Neville said, he's played in that position many times for ManUre. He's just not the player that he's made out to be.

Sterling on the other hand was magnificent and exciting to watch. Looking forward to seeing more of him. I thought Barkley made a huge difference when he came on too.

Although we lost we didn't lose in the usual negative boring fashion that the England team usually manage to adopt. It's frustrating that we didn't convert more chances however at least we went with a positive attacking mindset. I'm not too disillusioned just yet. (apart from with Rooney, who lets face it, is not fit to lace Ronaldo's boots.)
