Art Alliance: Show by Shepard Fairey, ft DFace, Swoon & more, by A.R.T. on Jul 11, 2014 16:29:52 GMT 1, They are charging like most big art exhibition shows do. You continue to prove you have no clue about the art scene.
There will be plenty of art for sale. Art should be free and a show that charges people to see the art is making it elitist.
I do understand that some guys like Fairey etc love money and love to sell images that they put their name to.
Money money money aint it funny it's a greedy art world.

There is no art scene.
There is just making money from art and exhibitions.

In general, those exhibitions that charge an entrance fee or separate fee for admittance are at museums--non-profit institutions. These institutions are attempting to offsite a tiny part of their exhibition costs via these fees, especially since art is not sold at these shows and therefore they are not making a commission fee of any sort. Even with that said, these fees are under a lot of debate within the museum world as they make art and exhibitions less accessible to a large and diverse audience.
This show sounds exciting but I have to say the entrance fee is a little off-putting to me as well considering most of these works will likely sell and the exhibition organizers are more than likely to recoup their exhibition costs and then some on the commission alone. Also the exhibition curators have spoken about wanting to pair the show with a music festival becuase of the democratic nature of music and limiting access to the art via an entrance fee seems to go against that spirit as well as the spirit of street art in general perhaps--and many of the artists in the show have been or are street artists.

Spoken like a typical disgruntled untalented artist. I have known many over the years in NYC and your act is a caricature, which in fact you may want to consider as those doing caricatures near tourist areas seem to make some money.

Art Alliance: Show by Shepard Fairey, ft DFace, Swoon & more, by sin on Jul 21, 2014 3:35:08 GMT 1, How is an exhibition that is this big any different than an art fair? We pay to go to art fairs to see amazing work. People will pay to go to this show to see amazing work. Art fairs make cash from exhibitors, and then take a second bite at the apple through attendance. This show will make money from the art sales, and take a second bite at the apply through attendance. Just go and have fun, or dont, its just $10.

Everyone making pentaptychs now?

Art Alliance: Show by Shepard Fairey, ft DFace, Swoon & more, by maddoghoek100 on Jul 29, 2014 4:14:00 GMT 1, something tells me that the crazy wording of the print limit will end up being 1 per artist per person with amax of 5 prints per person. just seems a bit out of place that the guy who only allows one print per person on his website would set a policy that allows somone to buy 5 invader, 5 dface, and 5 retna prints. that is either a realy good PB or a reseller.
