First Banksy, by Deleted on Jul 5, 2014 0:43:09 GMT 1, yup , its a divisive subject , but we see so many posts on here each day from newbies looking to get a banksy and it for 99% of the population, this would be a big financial commitment- with no guarantee of any return - Im just a bit wary with the numbers bandied about for a bit of paper with some screenprinting on it then again, I was able to get at cost over the years, so my perception of what a Banskly is worth is somewhat tainted "worth" is another topic entirely though agree, not a topic worth exploring for the umpteenth time haha. and this board does have its many ways of paying it forward.
love this place

First Banksy, by Coach on Jul 5, 2014 0:52:27 GMT 1, see if you can get a backdoor- a real un- and live with it for a while. If you feel the need to upgrade to US or S, then you will be in a better position to judge its worth to you. thems backdoors are not getting any easier to find though
Bottom line is buy signed, if you can afford it, or you can't then buy unsigned, and if you can't afford that, then buy backdoor, and if you can't afford that, then print off a digital yourself from an image on banksy's website.
Or, buy something by another artist. So many to choose from, just have a look through the get your art out thread. It's not all about banksy! So many other great artists.

First Banksy, by Deleted on Jul 5, 2014 0:56:23 GMT 1, agree w/ coach, although that might not be what dreamers wants to hear.
best is to find an artist just getting started, so you can get something hand-painted. then it just gets even more special over time. like those people who have dotdotdot canvases, zach hpms, etc.

First Banksy, by Deleted on Jul 5, 2014 10:45:52 GMT 1, Is there an actual fixed retail gallery price for Banksy prints? Regardless of their market value today I guess it depends if you want a print to keep for ever and ever and ever or to re sell short term investment style or as a long term investment. I don't think anyone has re sold a Banksy print for less than they paid. I have. Due to poor buying and desperate selling though. The art market is very fickle.
