It's not a matter of personal opinion FR, it's a matter of fact. Artist such as Dolk, Adam Neate, Dface, Nick Walker and Banksy himself checked this board on a regular basis. Some of Banksy's closest confidents dropped info and corrected wild myths. Others became experts in the field through a love of the street work and went on to write books, become professional street art photographers, curators, open galleries and become known artsts themselves, Ludo for example. It was around the time you yourself joined, the original flipper, that people realised things were changing. To say these EB characters and their Americam dream of getting rich by transitioning from flipping band posters to flipping street art prints hasn't changed the community is fundamentally wrong. The fact that more and more new members are embracing this aspect of the culture without any deep knowledge of the cultures rich history and its characters, simply leads to the likes of Bambi and a whole host of other sub par and derivitive works on here that are touted as the next big thing. Until next time. Coach is one of the few members left who has a genuine and deep understanding of the culture and the values it serves to promote, Often the antithesis of the values promoted on here much of the time.

Sort of like spying on the forum without actually taking part and team Banksy joining the forum to keep the good and positive PR and comments flowing?
At the same time some of these artists have no problems sowing wild myths themselves.
It's a forum and people have opinions. Just as in all era's art has been provocative and created debate.
It would be fucking boring if everyone said look how wonderful are todays cheese fellows with their witty brushes of photo they shopping and some who painty on really objects . They is urban and we is lucky they is allow us to be this close to their emissions.

That's the best of the year lol. With Me ? Or with " confidents " without me ? I enjoyed the show and I gratefully thank some of you ! My best holidays in my life.

One thing for sure is that our artistic leader Mr. B has completely changed his approach to the market since 1998. He is no longer a single young guy painting farm animals, carnival rides and anything that can be taken off of a wall. If you go back to the archives and read some of the posts from 2006 & 2007 it is the same topics just the numbers have gotten much higher and the names of the forum members have changed with many still remaining. I liken this place to an American Soap Opera where the core characters remain but the supporting casts changes over time. When I joined this forum in 2007 I was a 36 years old guy with a great job a new wife and small kids at home. My only interest was to buy any street art that I could find by unknown artists primarily forum artists. As the years have gone by my economic status has changed dramatically unfortunately, my family situation has drastically changed and my likes and dislikes in art has completely changed. This place has its good and bad days but the overall premise is the appreciation of street art and our shared love for Banksy. I do miss contributions from Fragile & Bongo the most.

There's no reason why both forums can't co exist and get on with each other. That has been shown before re charity events. I am lucky to have lots of friends on both forums.

Just, I wonder, if the lack of great creation, or shows - the last Dran, per example ( it is just my shy advise ) , was a bit overestimated no ? - these past two years ( apart Banksy of course and the Stik NHS implication and combat ) , or great prints or murals ( most of the times now comissioned by munipalites ) could be responsible of this apathy on here... Street-art should be a rebel act, a fight, as graffiti, to denounce... but not. Apart some firends of the SSOSVA and other crews or collabs'...

Recommended other art forums , by Sanscript on Aug 1, 2016 13:12:49 GMT 1, I have read this forum for a good few years now. And I feel that it is currently friendlier than it used to be, but that is from my perspective and we all have different sensitivities and tolerances.
I remember people being pretty bloody harsh at times, for no real reason - I remember people making comments about wanting to actually meet and fight other people - I remember that an artist would post something, and then some horrible person would just write something like 'that's fu@king s**t'.
I feel that I have not seen any of the above in a while??
I only started posting recently because I feel it is friendlier than it was.
There may also be more 'flipping' and so on, but maybe there is just more art to flip. More artists, more artwork.
Increasing numbers, an increasing market and increasing viewers, so I suppose its all relative?

Plus of course have to keep the product highly placed and looking good for the public means group attacks at rimes from so called "insiders"

I think only special people got an invite. I know for a fact I would have been banned within five minutes on the I can't believe it's not butter forum.
