Martin Whatson Question, by South Bound on Jul 13, 2014 14:47:11 GMT 1, I am pretty new to Martin's work and I love the "En Point" print that is being released at the Graffiti Prints NYC show and would love to buy. However, I am going to have to jump through some pretty big hoops to make opening night (I am assuming it will sell out that night) and even bigger hoops to be around for the online release... It's a busy month.
I saw that the main edition is not hand finished.
My question(s): How do Martin's prints look in person versus in a photo (I know this is a silly question)? And does Martin usually hand finish his prints or is this unusual?
Any thoughts / opinions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

There are a lot of threads re: Whatson print releases with lots of pics including high resolution pics and pics of details etc. on this board. These threads also show you a lot of print releases with regular and hand finished editions etc. Did you try the forum search?

Martin Whatson Question, by Art Fan 2011 on Jul 13, 2014 15:45:32 GMT 1, Martins print always look great in the flesh, it is a shame "en pointe" wont be hand finished but itl still be a very nice print. I get the impression there will only be a few released at the show so be early if you want one, or try you luck at the online release - but be warned Whatson prints sell out in seconds!

Martin Whatson Question, by Poster Bob on Jul 13, 2014 16:04:47 GMT 1, There will probably be a small line of people who want the prints but you won't need to get there early to buy one. The last Graffiti Prints show was in London and the Martin Whatson prints which came with a hand finished COA took a while to sell out. I imagine demand in London is much higher than that in the US.

Martin Whatson Question, by johnnyh on Jul 13, 2014 16:42:59 GMT 1, I would tend to agree with Poster bob on demand. Martin always as far as I know produces good quality hand finished or not so if you like an image of his I doubt you will be disappointed. Likewise you often see his early stuff- originals etc on sale on here for a decent price. Not up on his pricing which I know is rising but still plenty of stuff around. Most of his early sales of stuff took place on the forum so there are some old bits still around...you could try a wanted thread and see what pops up

Martin Whatson Question, by Press Play on Jul 14, 2014 1:56:26 GMT 1, Lots of these will be picked up by flippers. My tip if you don't get one on release is to wait a couple of months. Then it will be a lot easier to pick up a print at almost cost. The demand for Whatson print is not that great that it justifies a sell out on 10 seconds.
Good luck, it might try to get one myself.
