Tristan Eaton ๐บ๐ธ Street Art โข Toy Designer โข Hollywood LA , by The True Cubs Fan on Aug 23, 2017 5:28:26 GMT 1, Yeah this seems a little outrageous for the price for a one off event which will be forgotten pretty quickly.
He's a strong artist and I love his style but this one doesn't scream Tristan Eaton to me as much. Very cool for him to have been able to design the poster though

I actually like it. And if Conor pulls off the upset this fight will be absolutely iconic. These have appeal well beyond the world of art collecting and will be gold for sports memorabilia enthusiasts. It's not just a print, he was commissioned to do the official fight image.

Hire a street artist to make an awful ugly mural that is connected with sex abuse. This is a UGLY mural, almost as UGLY as the recent s*it Kobra plastered all over New York. "Street art" - if you can even really call it that anymore - in NYC has gotten really bad after awful real estate developers started hiring these guys to sell real estate a few years ago.

"Street Art" in NYC is now used to just sell real estate, which should be a major topic amongst this style of art. The big developers (like the world trade center in NYC) paid these artist really nothing. "The Silversteinโs original venture into street art at 4 WTC sparked criticism after reports that artists who contributed were not compensated." -https://www.thevillager.com/2018/06/street-art-murals-commissioned-around-2-wtc-site/ Most of the street art you now see in areas of Brooklyn and Manhattan are usually commissioned by real estate groups to sell areas or buildings.

And Tristan Eaton designed a few Kid Robot dunnys then a few of his own retro comic based characters as he does not have many original ideas.
FWIW this Times writer is considered a neophyte with some amateurish writing, perfect to write about Eaton.

i actually support real estate companies commissioning street art, as long as it's good. makes the neighborhoods more vibrant and less stale.

Itโs actually an interesting subject to analyze - when is street art / muralism considered art vs being used as an advertisement? While at the same time that this writer is criticizing it, the artwork is doing what art should do: provocating people to think and react.

Tristan Eaton ๐บ๐ธ Street Art โข Toy Designer โข Hollywood LA , by stavi on May 10, 2019 20:18:35 GMT 1, But look at the pretty colors and random squiggles. It must be good!
But seriously, art has been a major driving force behind gentrification. A lot of people have caught on and know how to ride the art wave into moneyville.
I remember a story about a group of latino kids serving unofficial eviction papers (and a brick through their window) to a gallery trying to open up in their East LA neighborhood. Even they know what happens when the artists move in.
Also, it worked. The gallery space closed within 6 months.
But look at the pretty colors and random squiggles. It must be good!

Ya right, because art is really the fundamental cause of economic disparity!
