Moving house - looking to set up a quality storage, by lvanhoe on Jul 30, 2014 3:55:43 GMT 1, As I've posted in one of my other topics, I have just very recently gotten into art and I've already seen so much I like. As I won't be able to frame/hang everything I want from the get go, I'm also looking to set up a semi-professional storage for prints that don't make it on the wall right away.
Now, I have absolutely ZERO experience here but I don't want to make any mistakes. I know I most definitely will but I just want to minimize the risk of doing something that could damage the prints I'm buying.
Could someone tell me, step by step, what and where I should order to make this happen? Please assume:
- I'm a total newbie and have zero knowledge about this. - I have a fairly wide budget so no need to go for cheaper options. - I have the space to set up something good, no limits here. - I could very well see myself having over 50 prints in storage at some time as it's also going to serve as an investment.
Considering all these things, what would you recommend me to buy? If someone could provide like a grocery list for the newly born art collector, alongside with places/sites to order these things, I'd be really happy.
Thanks upfront!

All this stuff is covered in great detail you will find it very useful as loads of threads with all your type of storage queries, flat ting prints etc on

And I have tried reading most of them..only to be baffled by all the specific terms and what not. Also most of these threads were created in 2007 so might be outdated?
I mean i can obviously understand if my questions and threads are too dumb for this forum of experts (no sarcasm here, i would truly understand) but having had quite a few positive experiences here already I figured i'd just try to ask whatever comes to mind. Maybe these threads could even serve as stickies in a 'for beginners' section?
Thing is, ti's kinda hard to dive into the wonderful world of art while not understanding about half of whats being posted (even more so by not being a native speaker).

Do a bit of research that's why it's there all the technicals etc are explained. They are not dumb questions your just going about getting the answers in a dumb way clogging up the front page with a ton of daft threads on good topics already covered a zillion times

Also found the Selwins dealer here in the Netherlands and I have sent them an email about the sleeves.
