Apply for COA, wait a while, sell with COA for more money. Why would you ever offer a Banksy for way less without a COA?

Good catch. I had to back out for personal reasons. I feel very bad about the whole thing (first and last time), so I'm trying to help out getting a replacement buyer.

I'd feel better if I can give him a buyer straight  up to make things right. Like "I'm really sorry,  but Person A wants to buy it instead right now."

You're right--I can just walk away (already explained what happened)--but want to make things right.

If someone from the board bought it--transaction would be through paypal anyway, so I don't see the difference there. and yeah--no ebay fees.

He said he was banking (unintended pun) on the money from the print, and doesn't want to wait for the Pest COA.

Without wanting to rain on anyone's parade I would say there are enough Banksy's out there with COA to make buying one without an unnecessary risk. But I'm a worrier.

Pretty sure insertion fees are free or like 10 cents. If the winning bidder (OP) agrees to cancel the transaction, there are no final value fees levied. The only thing lost by the seller is the time.

I've never received a Coa from pest before but did a transfer of ownership with them which took less than 2 weeks.

TBF, no-one knows the OP's reasons for not being able to follow through, and it's also possible for the seller to second chance it to the next highest bidder. I've been on the sellers side of this equation before, and, although it is frustrating, there are 'outs' to be had at no cost to either party.

If nothing more, they'd probably get a few more viewers now it's been exposed here, from people subscribing to the seller. 

GL OP, admirable that you're making the effort to transfer the sale asap for the seller.

To be honest I think I'm using fairly polite language to comment on his behaviour. I've been on the seller's side of this story too many times to count and it's normally some twit telling me two weeks after the fact that he lost his job and can't afford the £15 he agreed to pay. Learn to be responsible for Christ's fucking sake. It's not that hard.

I can see both sides (I think?), both sellers point and would be buyer, do have to say if I were buyer I would feel a bit messed about though but these things happen and thats that, end of world it am not.

So, theres either a print here for sale or the chap will relist it.

If something goes wrong is the buyers contract with you or the original seller? Bit of a grey area acting as a middleman just to save a bit of aggro.
