Very few street artists make headlines as often as Banksy, which is even more impressive given the fact that very few people know who he is. The elusive artist has been using the world as his canvas for many years now, but some would argue that his career peaked last October with the completion of his month-long street art residency in New York, "Better Out Than In."
The residency inspired lots of street art thinkpieces, a new book from Carnage NYC, titled Banksy in New York, and now a documentary film, titled Banksy Does New York, from director Chris Moukarbel. A press release for the film explains that Mourkarbel used his own as well as crowd-sourced footage, capturing the public's reaction to Banksy's residency. It will be interesting to see how the information is presented and what it says about (in the press release's words) "the broader implications of thrusting street art into the spotlight and far beyond the art world."
As far as we can tell, this is not the same film that Banksy himself posted about back in June. Check out the trailer for that project below, and check back at a later date for more about Moukarbel's film.

Documentary Titled "Banksy Does New York" On HBO, by sommguy on Nov 26, 2014 9:56:54 GMT 1, I sat down to watch the documentary today, at a friends house in LA and boy was i surprised, no.... excited to see the pink version of the napalm print. Even if was only for a few seconds 
From what i heard/remembered, the pink was to be the A/P, but Banksy decided to go with the hand sprayed embellishment instead. I guess it would make it an original silkscreen on paper....
it look so rad. One of my favorites

I picture him at a dinner party unabashedly telling tales of how is Grandfather traveled Europe in the 1940's. "Collecting" art but having to flee to Argentina in the Spring of 1945.

One of my favorites I picked up on that Napalm A/P also (of which there were 27 unique colourways ) and short video clips from the Turf War exhibition which i would soo love to see more of !! , i wanted to see video from the Turf War show so much so that i actually made a moving video of the Che canvas from photos from the Turf War show which can be seen here |

Documentary Titled "Banksy Does New York" On HBO, by Deleted on Feb 12, 2015 10:25:31 GMT 1, Saw this last night. It was better than I expected. Sad, frustrating and amazing all at the same time. It's the first time I have seen all the work from New York and I have to say I was impressed. My favorite works were the 'Bumper car' and the collabs with Os Gemeos.
I enjoyed the way in which Banksy played with the people of New York.
It's a shame nothing happens in Bristol. I'll never get to see any Bankski work in the flesh ;-).

I watched the beginning with the balloon letters and wouldn't be surprised if the trendy hipsters trying to steal it were actors as well a sthe people shouting they are stealing the Banksy. with even a fake falling down on the pavement.
Then rent a cop turns up and it's nicely filmed ideal for promotion purposes.
The rest was just as cheesyand I had to fast forward and gave up after five more minutes.
Blatant cheese on top of more cheese and absolute hype.

I was at 3/4 of the works and it was nuts |
