those guns one day soon to protect it's homeland against a foreign invader or it's own government.
Many people in the USA are also not too happy hearing a friendly British Accent holding a knife to
one of their countrymen. I personally like the concept that no one should own a gun except law
enforcement or the military but that will never happen in America. Reality over & now back to the
multi run $7,000 stenciled pieces of paper being offered for sale.

I understand you are amerian but your not appalled that they left ther 9 year old go to a Uzi firing range?,it's amazing it's so acceptable. You are correct though they need they will need guns as the entire US army will be all overseas fighting/creating pointless wars..

in the late 60's. I absolutely hate guns, violence, war and everything war stands for.
There is absolutely nothing that shocks me these days when it comes to how stupid, violent &
reckless people are and how little regard humans have for themselves and their fellow human beings.
When I watch these videos of people slaughtering each other in the name of religion it makes me
think very bad thoughts. You can be proud of your country and still not support the governments
actions when it comes to domestic policies and it's thirst to get involved in other countries business.
Even if someone calls themselves a pacifist or an ex hippie there is no way they can rationalize sitting by idly
while women & children are being slaughtered because they prey to a different supernatural being. The world needs to join forces and stand up and say that this is not right but unfortunately people are too focused on when the new iPhone 6 is coming out. Americans have become numb to mass school shootings and just like you guys can't understand the American psyche, we can't understand fans killing each other during a football game just because they root for opposing teams.

people do however discuss American politics and instances as most people see American news either through an American channel or through their own domestic networks. Americans also widely use the internet etc and publish from their phones on Youtube etc. your news networks and media houses sell and circulate stories better, quicker than any other. As a people your internet channels are the most used globally etc etc.
the two recent American discussions have both been about guns one where an unarmed teenager was killed and the other here about a 9 year old girl with an UZI.
The USA is also involved in a lot of armed conflicts so it's not strange to realise why it often comes up n discussion points. None of the discussions have been anti American in general although you may find an instance etc.
I love America and go there at least once a year and have a mega time. However I am astounded by the gun laws and the amount of shootings in America. That's not anti American that's just a sadness at the massive waste of lives going on. One only has to look at the number of shootings in all the worlds major capitals and cities to see a comparison and difference.

The facts of the tragedy and how she lost control due to the power of the weapon surely highlights that it should never really have been in her hands. It is only really in America that this would be both legal and almost a passing instance that will never be heard of again as it's replaced in the news by Kim Kardashians latest plunging neckline. Unfortunately most other countries are catching up and likewise gun crime, shootings etc are becoming more prevalant.

I didn't see any anti American sentiment in the whole thread, just a condemnation of the gun laws which us Brits just cannot understand. I personally love America and the majority of its people that I have met, but allowing pretty much anyone to have a gun and actively encouraging very young people to learn how to shoot them, is something we, over this side of the pond, will never just get.

I didn't see any anti American sentiment in the whole thread, just a condemnation of the gun laws which us Brits just cannot understand. I personally love America and the majority of its people that I have met, but allowing pretty much anyone to have a gun and actively encouraging very young people to learn how to shoot them, is something we, over this side of the pond, will never just get. On a personnel note to Mr Wearology, if you follow the news over here, no one is more shocked and generally outraged than us about the accent of the animal who decapitated your countryman, no one. You are generally a person on the forum who puts across a balanced view, but this time you are confusing nationality with religion. I have no idea why you thought you needed to bring that up.
Regarding Wearology and kultur 's comparisons to a beheading...I find those statements completely illogical. It is NOT legal in the UK to behead someone, but it IS legal in the USA for a 9 year old to fire a semi-automatic sub-machine gun on a target range.
The discussion is about the gun control laws with respect to minors, and the inferences one draws about the society which accepts that practice. This discussion is not even about the right of civilians to own firearms. And it certainly isn't about illegal/criminal activities such as beheading people.
There is nothing anti-american about being outraged by the legal position which allows children to fire weapons.
