Also, if I might make a couple of points: whilst knife crime is undoubtedly high in the UK, the amount of pro rata knife deaths per capita in no way compare to gun deaths in the US.
Also... I'm not aware of legalised knife training centres in the UK where young children are taught how to effectively wield and kill with a knife.
I realise its a big issue but I don't believe the answer will come from comparing the US's problems to those of other countries.

According to the interview (shown on bbc) with the range owner or employee, that's right. But I think the interviewee said unless it's a .22, in which case the youngest age was said to be 5 or 6, I can't remember which.

An Uzi Submachine gun isn't a hunters weapon or a sporting weapon of any kind. The Uzi was designed for two purposes in mind, to be able to fire off a rapid succession of bullets in the quickest time-frame possible and therefore kill as many people as it can through-out this process. It's why that and the Mac10 is favoured by drive-by gunmen the world over. A quick & efficient human killing weapon.
What happened in Arizona shouldn't have happened obviously, feel free to learn how to shoot a rifle or a handgun that a child can potentially control if that's your vibe, but not a sub machine gun, thats just plain insanity isn't it?
This is by no means American bashing but surely if tragic accidents like this keep occurring in the US then it's hard to swallow America getting all high & mighty telling other countries what they can and can't do. Sort yourselves out first, then come with the international policies.
This tragedy brought back all those insane twitter pictures of those kids excitedly opening up presents on Xmas day only the presents they were opening were AR15 Assault rifles (before they finally banned selling them) & various add-ons to make their weapons "super awesome!"
