Ebay Early Bidding, by plymman on Jan 17, 2008 22:18:39 GMT 1, I've been wondering why there are so many early bids on Ebay for prints by Banksy and the like. Most other items (electronics etc..) all seem to have little or no bids until the last day or so (I'm always a last minute bidder).
With these prints though they can be up in the hundreds with half a dozen bids just a few hours after its been listed. Any opinons on why this is?

Ebay Early Bidding, by dotdot on Jan 17, 2008 23:42:14 GMT 1, It used to be swings and roundabouts. Bid early gives you the idea of whats going on. wait till the end you invariably forget.
Mind you i bid early on the neate box and was outbid inside seconds - firey auction that one.

Ebay Early Bidding, by Deleted on Jan 18, 2008 1:17:51 GMT 1, does anyone try working out a deal off ebay with the seller? i was curious if this is why listings get removed.

Ebay Early Bidding, by BME on Jan 18, 2008 1:17:57 GMT 1, Yep, I tend to bid early too. I know how much I have to spend so just enter my maximum. It means I don't have to structure my life around ebay auctions.

Exactly. ;D
Hard to say if you'd see higher end prices because of this. Generally I think that people see bids on stuff like this so it makes them more confident in authenticity / seller rep / etc (whether justified or not).

Ebay Early Bidding, by Filipino Box Spring Hog on Jan 18, 2008 1:23:18 GMT 1, you can always use bidnapper or bidsniper or whatever it is it's called - i've used that before and it works really well - well enough to win at the last possible second anyway.

Ebay Early Bidding, by will1 on Jan 18, 2008 12:13:44 GMT 1, I think with the more expensive items and art in particular we have a max that we will go to whereas smaller items people will try and nick things at the death. when bidding increments go up so steeply not just 50p or £1 then your better having a definite figure in your mind if thats not enough well better luck next time, But it all comes down to how much you want something.
