BNE ๐บ๐ธ BNE Was Here โข Stickers โข Street Art, by dwight on Jul 21, 2014 17:21:42 GMT 1, bnedotorg Shortly after our World Water Day release of The Collaborative Tee, Banksy posted on his website the words โBanksy has not made any t-shirts for a water charityโ. What followed was interesting. About half of our customers immediately requested refunds, a few even insulted us. Some claimed refunds and generously donated directly to water charities. Some customers, understandably, were bummed that they werenโt getting a tee from their favorite artist. Apologies to anyone who was disappointed. Many people however, didnโt really care about Banksyโs claim of non-involvement, and stuck with us because they believed in the cause. Not only did they want to help people in need get access to clean water, they stuck with us to help build a movement. If you were one of the people who did not claim a refund, we feel that you deserve to be rewarded. It takes a lot to commit to a mystery tee, even if it does help people in need get access to clean drinking water. On September, 18 at 10AM PDT, a signed print titled โWaterโ will be released on BNE.org. Collab Tee customers who stuck with us, and did not claim a refund, will have the opportunity to purchase prints for the drastically discounted price of $350. This print will be available to refunded Collaborative Tee customers, and the general public for the full price of $6000. Print details and ordering instructions will be disclosed shortly before the release. One print per customer. Absolutely no exceptions. In November, the money that we have raised will be put to work. We will fund the work of small local NGOs in South-East Asia, and help bring clean water to those in need. Photos and updates from the field will be posted on social media and BNE.org

BNE ๐บ๐ธ BNE Was Here โข Stickers โข Street Art, by t3c on Jul 21, 2014 17:38:36 GMT 1, 6K print eh? Or 350 for those that stuck. That's a drastic difference in pricing isn't it?
I kept 1 T and refunded the other so i'm technically in this game still, technically
"what if what if" comes to mind here which i guess is the entire point of his latest play..
man this guy though...he's got bigger balls than me or anyone else here thats for sure to keep the game going after the total car crash from the initial T-shirt sales

banksy was involed from the start just like shep invader faile only banksy knew people would be buying his tee purely to flip and not give two f**ks about the charity so they had to think of a way to catch people out that's why banksy annonced an hour after the tee sold out and not before the drop ( it was all over the net for 10 days prior) it wasn't a released that just happened after all it was massively advertised and hyped why would banksy just sit back to wait and watch everybody get ripped off.
now the people who did care about charity are being rewarded with a cost price banksy
all the rest of us idiots who got a refund have to pay secondary price!
That's what I think anyway kinda regret getting the refund now

plus it doesnt matter, people will still buy a print by Banksy at 6k.
That said, BNE keeps riding the what-if train and is therefore abusing Banksy imo. Not ok

Koons Split Rocker vase 5K www.gagosian.com/shop/jeff-koons--split-rocker-vase--AB/CMS_JKOON17 the version up in Rock Center in NYC is stellar and if you are in the area and have not checked out the Retrospective at the Whitney it is not to be missed.
for those that dont know Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov is by far one of my personal favorite symphonies. if you dont like symphonic music it may be a nice little gateway drug for you. Follow it up with Holst's Symphony of the planets. Might change your life, probably wont
He's doing a Scheherazade isn't he. We'll all be old and grey, wondering what step 786 of his art project is. #OldAndGreyNow

BNE ๐บ๐ธ BNE Was Here โข Stickers โข Street Art, by Deleted on Jul 21, 2014 18:43:31 GMT 1, First of all - I don't think any Banksy print was ever close $6K original cost, correct?
Second, I highly doubt Banksy would be involved in what would amount to a "prank" on his own fans - fans who were absolutely willing to donate money to a charity, just not to do it through this shady BNE asshole. It wouldn't be "ha - you learned a lesson for not supporting a charity". It would be "ha - you didn't trust this shady dude and decided to dontate money directly instead"
just not his style and I think he'd loose a lot of respect if this was the case (which I'm 99.999 percent sure it's not)

BNE ๐บ๐ธ BNE Was Here โข Stickers โข Street Art, by randomname on Jul 21, 2014 18:46:58 GMT 1, When I was 21, I went to Mardi Gras with some friends. After getting a lap dance from a lovely lady of questionable morals and stumbling from gutter to gutter filled with piss and puke, I came across a young entrepreneur with a table set up for three card monte.
I'd seen it on TV before, but never up close and personal. I watched intently as he shuffled the cards across the table and thought I picked up on a tell. The card I was following (the queen of hearts) had a bent corner. The person with his money on the table failed to pick up on this and lost.
Being the genius that I am, I put $20 on the table for a sure thing. I watched him shuffle the cards and sure enough, there was one card on the table with a bent corner. Surely it was the queen of hearts. But magically, no it was the six of clubs.
I didn't get mad. All I could do is laugh. I learned a valuable lesson for the bargain price of $20.

I miss the days when all people would argue about was wether the handles on the Bethlehem trolleys print were hand finished by Banksy or not

Maybe then it turns out that BNEยดs intention wasnยดt to do such a scam and risk his reputation and explains why the Banksy announcement only happened that close before the release even the release went viral. Maybe it was really the idea to avoid flipping and do a social experiment who is willing to participate in the idea to bring water to people without thinking of a quick profit with a Banksy shirt. But maybe itยดs even a bigger scam. You never know

You never know people claiming it's a "social experiment" and defending BNE are forgetting that most people (like myself) did not request a refund because Banksy wasn't involved, we requested a refund because BNE is a liar and criminal, selling way more than 100 shirts and kept the money for himself. so if it were a social experiment, there are WAY too many "variables" to get a valid conclusion, scientifically speaking
So I am going to wait and see until the release and if I am happy with what I see I am going to take my option to buy as I forgot to ask for a refund. Maybe then it turns out that BNEยดs intention wasnยดt to do such a scam and risk his reputation and explains why the Banksy announcement only happened that close before the release even the release went viral. BNE ๐บ๐ธ BNE Was Here โข Stickers โข Street Art, by opalis141 on Jul 21, 2014 19:28:04 GMT 1, bnedotorg Shortly after our World Water Day release of The Collaborative Tee, Banksy posted on his website the words โBanksy has not made any t-shirts for a water charityโ. Photos and updates from the field will be posted on social media and BNE.org Don't know if this was mentioned elsewhere--I'm a little late to the game. From what I understand the money from this never actually made it to the charity, which subsequently cut ties with BNE?
