MY DOHERTY FOR YOUR S&S !!!!!, by jonpud on Jan 21, 2008 15:32:11 GMT 1, OK, there will be a day when I come to regret this but I am offering up my copy of Pete's 'Self Portrait' in an exchange deal for a Stop & Search.
It is from the extremely limited edition of 25 and is hand signed in pencil by the man himself!
I am extremely reluctant to let this go but as I have had no takers on the signed LVC swap I obviously need to offer something more tempting!

Beleive me, it is just as difficult for me to let this go, but I have decided I am hanging on to it for all the wrong reasons!!! ie I feel this is far more an investment piece than S&S and as I do not generally buy for 'investment' it kind of goes against the grain keeping it!! I missed out on the S&S due to a dodgy connection at work, whilst they are fetching an affordable sum on Ebay I am pretty skint at the moment and so am offering a swap deal with some of my 'choice' pieces.
I also have some rare Jamie Reid which I will offer if the LVC or Doherty fail to tempt anyone!!

Just my opinion of course, but I wouldn't give that knob jockey's efforts at a sketch the time of day on any wall in my place!
I'm sure he is a love/hate figure, so someone probably likes it as much as I dislike it

To answer a few questions, this is not covered in real blood, I beleive the original was sprayed with Ox blood! I bought this because I hated it so much I had to have it!! ;D

I wonder what this would be worth if it had been done by Sid Vicious or Kurt Cobain? Only history will decide if Pete was a genious or a mis-guided junkie fool! Either way this print will in one way or another form part of that history!
To be honest with you, the high level of feeling on this thread really gives me the impression that I should keep it!!
