Yeah, I agree, but I think the real question is what will happen when the price gap starts to bridge; i.e. what is the value of the signature? When you have all of the prints in such high demand, I'm curious how the presence of the signature alone will uphold with regard to the difference in pricing over the years/decades.
I genuinely think the presence of a stamp or Banksy logo will play a large part, but I can easily understand how anyone would disagree.

Agree it's supply and demand and the unsigned are still affordable for working class people, they can save up or it goes on their credit card..
Remember how quick the CYW's started increasing, did galleries start it all off? I mean due to it possibly being his last print, low edition etc.. So they were outbidding each other and prices started goin crazy very quick.. Then all the other signed prints started moving and it's filtered down to even the silver flags!! The poor silver flags no one likes even had a love in on the forum last month... and now is going for a few grand

Not disagreeing with the demand aspect at all, although I'd argue more fans than speculators are buying unsigned.

This isn't actually a discussion where money is a matter of concern; it is almost the opposite. I'm curious about how increase in overall demand may lead to a market where people are buying more based on image than other aspects, and pay less attention to the presence of a signature as something worth thousands of pounds extra.

My opinion on the matter is that signed will always be desired head and shoulders above. The gap will close as all some fans can afford is the unsigned which drives the prices up in the short term. Over time as collectors clamour for the signed prints those prices will rise accordingly and move away yet again.
Look at the price history of others and that seems to be the way it goes. Warhol/Dali unsigned get no way near that of the signed ones.

Solid contribution to the discussion.
My main curiosity arises from how Banksy handled his signatures in comparison to Warhol/Dali; it seems like the latter would have entire series of unsigned prints, with no signed versions of the images, whereas Banksy would have a popular image release in both signed and unsigned print versions. I could easily be wrong, but this was the impression that I gained from earlier Warhol threads.
And yes, still no understanding re: Flags, really. I'd understand if it was slightly less than the other unsigned prints just due to the condition, but the edition size is not even that different (and really, most fans don't care too much about edition size; it isn't a bar at all from buying a print). No wonder the signed ones are worth a fortune. You're paying for the man's time and mental rehabilitation.
Edit: I guess if Pest Control say you have a signed Banksy print, then that's what you have. It could have a Horse print on the bottom, but if Pest Control vouch for it, then it is what it is.
