I'm hoping this is because people are starting to buy based on image, rather than the concept of just having a signature; curious as to your thoughts.
Also curious what you all think the difference will be in twenty years re: signed vs. unsigned. Seems like such a big deal now, but they're all Banksys aren't they?
I feel like things like the stamp (on Golf Sale/Barcode) will come to play for unsigned, as will those prints that already have the Banksy logo like Queen Vic and HMV.

I think one like that will always make a difference, especially since there is no other 'Banksy' insignia on the print itself aside from the signature. The signature completes the print much more than it does in other prints.

I mean, I'm sure we have. But I meant more image-specific, so as to focus on the sole value of the signature itself (rather than abstractly looking at signed vs. unsigned banksy prints).
Like the price differential between a signed vs. unsigned Queen Vic. Or a signed vs. unsigned Golf Sale. These seem to be changing in a way that reflects image preference over "Banksy brand preference."

Short term the unsigned have gained quite a bit recently. Few reasons but in the long term that's about it.
The signed ones will be always more valuable and sought after (if affordability out of question).
They are from much lower editions (150 vs 500/600 usually) and they are signed.

Even though I'd prefer images such as Nola, GWB, LITA etc, I'd prefer a signed print over unsigned any day. IMO, having a signature is what makes it a complete, most sought after piece. I know Banksy is Banksy, but (almost) all of my other prints are signed - why should I hold him to a higher standard? Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE an unsigned Banksy. I'd be thrilled with any. BUT if I had a choice, I'd take signed any day

Many Banksy prints could really be Ben Eine pieces since his skill is what made the prints. I'd be a different story if Banksy was making prints himself in his basement, but he's not. #I am not trying to hype up Banksy's as though A) I could or B) it would have any effect on the long term hyping.

I'd heard it mentioned once or twice when discussing the difference between the two sigs; probably from the same people who think Banksy isn't a real person.
