Whilst on this forum you’ve managed to criticise my framing, criticise my liking of a print and now call me a mug, for buying a mug. Well done you.

You obviously congratulate yourself on your forthright style as you cruise round here mocking members’ grammar, taste and preferences. To me you are pretentious and boring.

How much for a paint pot ?

The thread title led me to believe it was a reference to people who are duped by The Connor Brothers and actually purchase their work.

My assumption was that this would be a condemnation of collectors who fail to educate themselves, leaving them helplessly unarmed and incapable of identifying artistic output which is:

(i) derivative;

(ii) formulaic; and

(iii) soullessly market-driven — i.e. where the starting point to the creation process is questions like,

- "Whose schtick is popular right now?"
- "What's trendy and easily copied?"
- "What will sell to less-informed buyers who won't realise we're just rehashing the ideas of other people?"



I clicked on this thread to voice my agreement before realising I had misunderstood the title.

In fairness they posted on IG around an hour ago and I got an e-mail shortly before it dropped.
