Bristol phrases, by Dr Plip on Oct 14, 2014 11:32:36 GMT 1, Coventry had "Chinny reckon" or "reck-on" or "rack-on" depending on how much of an individual you wanted to be.
I spent at least a couple of my childhood years rubbing my chin.
Now I only do it when I'm plotting or concentrating.

Bristol phrases, by Deleted on Oct 14, 2014 11:35:16 GMT 1, Anyone from Bristol remember saying 'itchy barry' ? Whilst scratching their chin to indicate they thought the person was bulls**tting. Lived in Bristol as a kid in late 60's/early 70's and then again in mid 80's so probably missed the heyday of this phrase. We had the universal 'chinny reckon' in my part of the world.

Bristol phrases, by Dr Plip on Oct 14, 2014 11:38:33 GMT 1, I always disliked "Lush!"
Everything was "Lush!" for a few years in the 90s
I think it even made a comeback not so long ago. Like Ninja Turtles.

Also if someone was scared to do something we used to tuck you teeth far backwards in your bottom lip creating a massive exposed chin and galloping your fingers on said chin thumb underneath saying 'Bottler Bottler"
How many of you are doing this right now lol

Sure it is a phrase which is suitable for other things but due to the notable accuracy once applied to rovers it almost takes on another meaning.
