Pahnl ๐ฌ๐ง Birmingham Street Art โข New Print Release , by Pahnl on Jul 19, 2009 13:25:06 GMT 1, I thought I'd make a thread an introduce myself properly, since I know I've been represented a little bit by Blight Society posting up some of my work here before. I've not paid as much attention to the Banksy forum because it struck me more as a buyer's and seller's community of prints and highly sort after work but then I noticed there were a bunch of friends active here, so I thought why not.
Here's a selection of some of my work but if you want to catch more, you can check out www.pahnl.co.uk/ and www.flickr.com/photos/pahnl/
On street stuffs: 'Motivation'
'Dopeness Means Robots' a collab with Snik
'Good Luck With That' panda by an unknown artist
'Chasing Bones...at Night'
'Up With Ladders'
'The Buff' my contribution at UpFest 2009
'No Dogs' at Sub Urban 3
'Ollie' live painted at the NASS festival
'Forever'
Off streets:
'A Bonesend'
'Buff and Run'
'Chasing Bones' stenciled tee
'On Fire Exit'
'Two Hundred And Sixty Cans' there really are
'Everyone Is Shouting, No One Is Listening'
'Oh s**t'
Cheers for looking

Pahnl ๐ฌ๐ง Birmingham Street Art โข New Print Release , by Pahnl on Jul 19, 2009 23:41:23 GMT 1, Pahni? Atleast you didn't call me Pahnini, haha.
Cheers, junta, I'm glad to see the guys at Blight Society earn their commission through promotion
And eduara, I've not much currently available since they're either away at shows, or, like you say, on Blight but the 'On Fire Exit' edition is available and there's a bit more information at www.flickr.com/photos/pahnl/3732160063/
I've not had much time to produce off street work with all the opportunities granted to me painting at events and I've taken the on/off good weather of late in the UK to do more on street stuff. If this rain continues, there'll be more work, hah.

Pahnl ๐ฌ๐ง Birmingham Street Art โข New Print Release , by Pahnl on Jul 26, 2009 3:51:59 GMT 1, Why am I not surprised you liked the piece that involved an animal, Schlo?
Cheers Mr Mash, which pieces hadn't you seen before?
Ah man, I tell you that scaffolding was a royal pain in the...everywhere. I spent hours and hours cutting two seperate scaffolding structures, only to throw them away after using them once because they were in such a bad state afterwards. Such is the sacrifice we stencil artists make, eh? Hahaha...
And thanks Simley (that's right, I combined your names), it's still a favourite of mine even though I've developed the sleakness of my designs since then. Sometimes cruder is better.

Pahnl ๐ฌ๐ง Birmingham Street Art โข New Print Release , by Pahnl on Aug 9, 2009 19:14:08 GMT 1, Photos from a painting session I was part of, alongside Pistol, JK47, 20/20, Elmo and Los Stencilos at 'The Bank Tavern' in Stokescroft, Bristol. The cider was good (as well as free for us), the weather did a U-turn for us from the rain we had throughout the week, shining down on us and the company was great. It's good to be seeing familiar faces regularly
A spare wall, free cider and great company: GOOD DAY.
20/20 outlining his piece after a bunch of boards are freed up.
Pistol doing his thing. (painting, just to be clear.)
Artists at work.
"GINA!"
My piece in progress.
Elmo tries to blend in with her peacock.
20/20 has a think.
Almost an abstract version of Elmo's piece, eh? Coincidence or tenuous plagiarism? : P
Los Stencilos gets his hands dirty...
Something interesting?
Picking paint off your nails: a game you can play for days!
Los Stencilos making one of my stencils the centrepiece of his contribution to the paint up, don't ask him what it means
Jake's abstract floral piece, Elmo's peacocks and Pistol's bowie.
Hard at work or hardly working?
A roughly 12ft wide version of my 'A Bonesend' piece
20/20 getting messy.
Delicious colours and texture.

Cheers Mash, it's a good to get the chance to paint something people will find harder to miss. As they say in shelf stacking circles (if such circles exist), 'Eye level is buy level', haha.

Pahnl ๐ฌ๐ง Birmingham Street Art โข New Print Release , by Pahnl on Oct 2, 2009 18:54:10 GMT 1, 'It Started As A Joke'
It started as a joke but things quickly escalated and before we knew it, all paint broke lose and people were taking sides, sparring with paint brushes, chasing after each other madly and taking hostages. We never did finish painting that room...
Be sure to click on the last image to see everything larger.
This piece has been dogging me for a month now, taking up all of my spare time. I wanted to produce something that featured a giant crowd scene before the year was out. I had done 'crowds' before in 'Dopeness Means Robots' but that consisted of tiling many designs over each other. I had originally intended for 'The Buff' to be a crowded scene but the dimensions were off and I learnt from my mistakes. Thus 'It Started As A Joke' came to exist, which now features over sixty individually designed figures, copy and paste was told to fuck off.
I'm immensely pleased with the final result and I believe it's my finest work to date. You'll have to excuse the subpar quality of the last photo but I'm too tired to set up, shoot and stitch together a bunch of photos to get a high quality panoramic. I hope you enjoy looking at all the little scenes and situations going on
Over 120cm long, ~90 hours of design, ~50 hours of cutting, two hours of painting and four layers.
48" by 12" by 1.5", stretched canvas, edition of four.
Available for ยฃ550, which includes worldwide postage, message me for further details.

Unless, like me you don't have that dough for art at the minute. Definately consider doing a print-run once these bad boys are gone (i'd imagine pretty damn soon) and I'm in.

Pahnl ๐ฌ๐ง Birmingham Street Art โข New Print Release , by Pahnl on Oct 2, 2009 19:59:53 GMT 1, Thanks, silentbill and matsan, you touched upon one of my favourite artists. I've nothing for or against Pollack but Haring's attitude and ethos towards art was brilliant. If I believed in idols or rolemodels, he'd be a contender, haha.
TLP also produce great work, as well as being up yor street, simococo, they're up mine, too. Those guy's know how to make black and white work for them.
I've not ventured into prints yet, content with walls and canvases, but having produced this, I think I'd like to have it printed too. A framer friend passed on one place's details but if anyone here knows of a decent art screen printing place, please suggest 'em because I'm definitely interested in having a larger edition of these printed to make the piece more accessible, like you say, elwheel.
