This is a beautiful bit of work Pahnl, any chance in a small run of these as I am sure they would sell like hot cakes  I certainly would be interested in one.

The birds remain high up in the night, quietly awaiting the dawn.
The cats skulk and sniff the alleyways, all with feral inquisition.
The dogs, well, they're just happy to be peeing in the street.
This set of prints, titled 'The Night Series', is sparked by a reimagination of 'Desire', first painted over two years ago now. Whilst working on the redux, a cat version soon emerged and a scene with birds was created to complete the trilogy of prints, which play with light and perspective more than I have previously done.
53.8cm by 23.3cm - Archival Giclee Print - Hahnemuhle 310gsm - Signed and numbered

After the bursts of colour from the 'Nowhere Near Here' stills, I wanted to go a more subtle and understated route.
Black and white is as striking a palette as you can get but the small elements of colour lend their own tone to each scene nicely I think.
Banksyesque, eh? Ehm, I'll...I'm keepin' it real...yo, aha. Older friends are better friends anyway.

The mess hall, by name and by nature.
A sixteen layered original stencil commission, which might've been fewer layers if I had bothered to mask off different parts of a single stencil to apply different coloured elements, of a family's food fight...no meat on the table, as they're vegans!

It was commissioned by one of the staff that I worked with for the premiere of 'Nowhere Near Here' at The Herbert and I met their boy on a couple of occasions; he had a funny habit of hugging my leg whenever he saw me, haha.
Unfortunately it's a one off, Eduar mate, sorry about that.

Like a bullet or bomb, paint will leave its own mark.
Spray paint means a lot of different things from artist to artist. To me, a can represents this bristling container of pressured potential, which can be used impulsively as much as it can be used considerately.
Unlike my previous 'can' pieces, this was less about quantity and more about the detail I could push out at this scale, needing to use over 70 stencils across the series to build the scenes up.
15cm by 15cm by 4cm, stretched canvas, each an edition of four.
