I need advice on Banksy purchase, by Deleted on Oct 18, 2014 8:10:11 GMT 1, If you are trusting a seller you have never met, you can't wait to pull the trigger and you don't want to remove it from the frame as you can't afford to get it reframed, it sounds like you are talking yourself into taking the risk and trying to get back up from the forum first.......... Few questions from me, Where was this advertised for only you too see it ? Do you feel like you will miss out if you don't buy this piece ? Honestly and I will be honest, i drove 878 miles round trip for my first banksy and made sure I was happy, I would have walked away had it not felt right, in fact I've picked up all mine regardless of location and I have needed to feel happy with the surroundings the attitude the overall conviction of any sale. If it don't feel right don't buy it. I have walked away from a deal only to come back six months later after it felt right, and the seller even went to the trouble of restoration at no extra cost to me, to try and get the ripples removed that were bugging me ever so slightly, turns out it was the ink during the printing stage. This was a straight trade in the end, and I am a happy bunny. The fact your on here asking, you have doubts, don't panic buy, your time will come. One of those mentioned above was me, and I take my hat off to Cornishcrayon for walking away from a Banksy he so wanted. But he was patient, and between us we got it sorted, with the help of Graham Bignell.
I'll also add to this thread the idea that once you've got your Banksy you'll keep it forever. Plenty of us on this forum said exactly the same, only to part with them as tastes change, you need money etc. They're a simple image and in my case the ones I've kept have a personal meaning, although they're not currently on display because I'm bored with them.
Should you ever want/need to sell it, the questions we are suggesting you ask will be exactly the same from someone else. Make sure you have a print that you can say 100% is genuine and in good condition because any future buyer will want to know that.

I need advice on Banksy purchase, by lucky7 on Oct 18, 2014 12:23:53 GMT 1, Do you feel like you will miss out if you don't buy this piece ? The fact your on here asking, you have doubts, don't panic buy, your time will come. Yes, I do feel like that. I came here with an open mind to suggestions. For example after people recommended here, I have asked for the print to be taken out of the frame. I think I have gotten very good advice and people have been very nice. Thank you all. I think whatever I do, I will be a bit anxious, hence my doubts. However, I have done my homework, I have thought about it, and there will always be risks, nothing is perfect, at the end of the day, you have to take the plunge.

I need advice on Banksy purchase, by dotdot on Oct 18, 2014 12:29:36 GMT 1, btw - get in touch with pc - - they'll get back to you in days.. max. verification with them in any instance before purchase will help you.
one last thing... was the ripple there before framing.. or did it occur in frame , if the latter - junk the frame.
keep us post & good luck.

I need advice on Banksy purchase, by Dungle on Oct 18, 2014 19:45:06 GMT 1, I had a Banksy framed myself, when i went to getvit reframed I found it had been dry mounted. I don't even trust myself now.
If you're spending thousands get it checked out. There are thousands of Banksy prints so don't risk getting stung.

Much easier. lot of hassle, then you get it framed up again, and the future buyer has all the same questions.
Portfolios are the future :-)
I concur, conquer, concurred, conquered.

I need advice on Banksy purchase, by Deleted on Oct 19, 2014 18:44:36 GMT 1, The emboss on the print looks like an Insect blindstamp, not a Banksy blindstamp It is the Heavy Weaponry stamp. Turn it through 90 degrees.

The blind stamp is the Banksy Heavy Weaponary stamp, and looks correct to me!

I need advice on Banksy purchase, by Rolex on Oct 19, 2014 19:02:40 GMT 1, Agree with speebe, back end of heavy weaponry stamp, probably a No Ball Games . I would deffinatly want to see it out of that awful frame, I'd also want 20% off for all the hassle of restoring those ripples ( through bignall) Good luck.

I need advice on Banksy purchase, by lucky7 on Mar 5, 2015 20:38:06 GMT 1, After many months, I finally have my Banksy print framed and hung. I just received confirmation this week from Pest Control that the print's ownership has been transfered to me.
I want to thank (and hereby do)everyone who participated in this thread. It was great to feel true human interest from all of you who posted. It didnt feel like an impersonal Internet exchange, people were truly interested and tried to help.
Thanks to onedub for giving me the original heads up.
Funnily enough, just after I payed for the print some months ago, the gallery wrote me an email. They were very curious and maybe even a bit worried because just after I contacted them (and I posted here) somebody bought the other Banksy they had and many others contacted them asking if they had anything else available. So to the lurker who bought the rat: You are welcome.

I need advice on Banksy purchase, by lucky7 on Mar 6, 2015 0:05:57 GMT 1, How many months did it take for them to confirm the change of ownership? I've been talking with them on and off for months. First checking if there were any problems with the print, then I had problems with my internet, etc, etc. In other words, problems on my end.
But from the moment I filled the form to their confirmation email, it was just 18 days. It might have been sooner, but after 4 days I was asked to provide extra images, which I delivered after 10 days.
So it took 18 days but it could have been 7. Very very quick.

I need advice on Banksy purchase, by Love Is In The Air on Mar 6, 2015 0:42:20 GMT 1, I had a nine day turnaround for change of ownership in February. Not sure if it helped that I bought from Gallery, but PC very smooth and quick for me.
