Sneakers vs Art, by eschiff on Oct 20, 2014 16:22:36 GMT 1, dreadnatty ha, yeah those two things caught my eye as well!
I imagine pricing for art has to be more difficult then sneakers due the subjective nature of what's being introduced. Though now that i've written that i'm not sure i agree. I guess Jordans can be equivalent to Banksys, LeBrons to Os Gemeos (or whomever) etc etc
The thing i think is interesting is there's certainly an argument to be made that by leaving money on the table they're doing better for their brands. With this forum/secondary market, a lot of those artists talked about here would've never seen the light of day, but with people able to make a couple hundred bucks it makes it more interesting to them.

I shouldn't knock it. If you're into it, great. Just seems so odd to me.

Sneakers vs Art, by mandingo on Oct 21, 2014 12:44:33 GMT 1, I queued up overnight down carnaby street for the adidasoriginals Noel gallaghers. Only a hundred pairs and was 95th in the line at 10pm . So needless to say by the time I got to the front there was none in my size so had to buy what was left ( size 6 ) which I then sold a few months later as was pointless if I wasn't going to wear them for 5 times what I paid for them .

Sneakers vs Art, by Deleted on Oct 21, 2014 13:22:35 GMT 1, I can understand people buying and reselling to sad gits that are so shallow they fall for the fashion labels and brands.
I won"t be surprise dif the companies that make them use employees to queu up too and hype the brand and prices.
Take away the label and it's just a shoe.
