It has more to do with quality of work (or the lack of it)band the assumption that people will think it's better because of the lies and hype they create. I got it off Bambi's twitter feed.
It's all hype anyway.
All artists are promoted with words like the new or legendary or subversive or such stuff.
Stencils of Wills and Kate is all a bit Royal Doultonand souvenir shop type stuff.
Maybe thats Bambi's agenda.

Nordicstar, I haven't followed all of this thread, so apologies if I get the wrong end of the stick.
As far as I am aware, it's not people on here that have "branded" Bambi as the female banksy. It's her own PR people that have done that. And that's been picked up by the press and the media. Some critics and some on here think her work is not particularly good. It's derivative and unoriginal. I think that too. I also dislike the Idea of her work becoming popular not because of the quality of it, and her work in the streets, building up respect from those that follow street art, but rather because of her PR machine and the press. Dislike of her work is therefore not gender related, but is related to the circumstances of her rise to fame (PR and media) rather than quality.
There are stacks of female artists that have the respect of most on here - miss van, faith47, aiko, swoon to name but a few.
