I wouldn't dream of selling and sending something to Peru or Thailand. Anything I sell is UK only, even though there's still hassle with that if something goes wrong.

I remember years ago this used to happen. Then after they win the auction for crazy money, they ask you to cash a cheque for £3000 through your bank and then transfer the difference to them.

Cant remember how, but the cheque would clear at first, you send the change. Then a week later the bank pulls the whole 3k from your account as it realises it was fraudulent.

Could be anything i guess, but someone tried this on me with a knackered old guitar i listed.

Yeah your right to be suspicious, one would end up winning for some high dollar amount and then would send you a money order for an even higher amount, they would apologize for the mistake and ask you do send them the extra money back when you cash the money order. All would work out until a few days later and the back goes to verify the money order and finds it to be fake, the bank would then hold you responsible and you would be out all the cash and the iPod touch. It's happened to me before, lucky I was like you and was smart enough to catch it before cashing any thing. Smart move on your part fed blocking them, I'd report them to ebay also.
