David Bowie, by virus on Nov 1, 2014 12:26:19 GMT 1, I love Bowie, I usually listen to his old stuff, I really like 'Scary Monsters', the first of his LP's i really liked.
I think his newer work is a bit uneven in quality, but 'Heathen' and 'the next day' are good, i also quite like 'Hours' released in 1999.

David Bowie, by Stoko on Nov 1, 2014 13:26:36 GMT 1, Carlos Alomar, not Amor You can totally forgive the fact that Bowie fell off in later years, because no other artist has EVER had a consecutive run of form like this: Space Oddity The Man Who Sold The World Hunky Dory The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars Aladdin Sane Pin Ups Diamond Dogs Young Americans Station To Station Low Heroes +Iggy Pop/The Idiot +Iggy Pop/Lust For Life And don't forget 'Transformer'

David Bowie, by Deleted on Nov 5, 2014 16:59:12 GMT 1, So now we've got the not so much to listen too advice out the way. What are your top 5 current Bowie albums ?. In no order
Young Americans- I have so much respect for Bowie to be able to pull this off. Not only did he pull it off he ripped the face off Aladdin Sane and started looking like Dusty Springfield ;-). I know he worked with musicians who knew what they were doing, but Bowie knew exactly what he wanted and WOW.
Ziggy Stardust- The album I guess I have listened to more than any other of Bowie's. It truly changed the world from my 2 year old eyes. I f**king love it, always have and always will. Funny but my 3 year old girl is crazy for Ziggy Stardust at the moment. In Particular from the moment Moonage daydream kicks in, you know you have a living rock god on the microphone.
Hunky Dory- Although this was my favorite Bowie album for 20 odd years, I now like it less. It's still up there with the best albums made. just not quite as good as I had made it. It has some of my favorite Bowie songs on, in particular 'Quicksand' (which I want played at my funeral) and 'Queen b**ch'.
Man who sold the world- This isn't a perfect record IMO. But there are so many perfect moments on it that its not noticeable to most. This is a proper Rock Opera and although Bowie's music before was still good. This was his first truly class record and I love it more with each listen.
I am really struggling with a 5th. Any out of Aladdin Sane, Low, Lodger and Station to Station will do. Lodger though I feel is the better album. Just not my favorite.
Lets keep the Bowie love up.
