Leave it alone, its meant for all to enjoy, not for some opportunist dipstick like you to try and profiteer from something that 1. does not belong to you. 2. you have no proof of provenance

you are not like that Pan, because you dont give a shit where or how people get their art, as long as they sell it on your site.
Charliechappers - why dont you ring up Laz and see if they will authenticate this work. Without any proof its a real Banksy, this isnt worth shit, and I bet you a pound to a pinch of shit, they wont ever give you that kind of documentation.
What you are doing is jumping on the back of the bandwagon, by destroying what is meant to be for all to see.
So leave it where it belongs and jog on

Something like he doesn't ever authenticate it but gives you ยฃ50 for your troubles, then he goes down to Bonhams a month later with it fully prov'd up??
Never knew Steve was a horse either - if he could draw that really would be something special

If that policy was updated to accommodate street pieces I bet you would only get provenance if it was 1.) On your property and 2.) Banksy benefited from the sale of the piece. Both of which would be fair enough.

Banksy Original, by darjeeling on Jan 29, 2008 3:33:49 GMT 1, Yeah, Laaz will start authenticating street pieces when they get a cut of the sale price that money grubbing scum.
But BTW folks. The definition of provenance is not 'a letter from laz inc' nor is it an 'email from Dora at POW.'
Photos of the piece in situ is part of the puzzle and if it's a recognized piece of work by Banksy (which I don't know about this case) but if it is and the piece looks legit in person, use your common sense.
Although I agree it's a bit shitty that everyone in England is cutting up walls and fences to cash in, eh, it's part of the game now. But if you own a wall, building or fence and Banksy decides to 'deface' your property then it's yours to do with as you please. Your wall is not the property of everyone in London, or wherever you may be.

Banksy Original, by tiger99 on Jan 29, 2008 14:31:16 GMT 1, Hello, first post, I'm a lurker...
Picasso was upset with the fact that his pieces sold for so much and tried to counter that by flooding the market. It didn't work. I doubt that it will for Banksy.
On the subject of cutting up walls, isn't that part of the pieces "artistic journey"? Almost validating the piece even more?
