I agree wholeheartedly, it does get a bit dull here though with new arrivals posting purely what they bought a month ago when they had no intention of ever keeping it. That's what ebay is for. If you want to sell on the forum at least try and have a bit of input into the forum not just see it as an ebay without fees!

Constantly moaning about "FLIPPERS" isn't input you wally...it's simply annoying and makes you laugh look jealous and like you enjoy blocking deals!
I've been collecting for 15 yours and never once sold a single piece I've bought but it does get to a point where you either buy something and never get round to framing it or simply don't like it once you've lived with it! For me, I've simply grown out of prints and only collect original works but as I've been in the game so long I still keep my ear to the ground with available work and get offered a great deal of stuff all of the time!
Now I have kids I too wish to sell bits I just have lying around...be it old work or a print that is a week old!
And yes, where possible I would like to make a turn on my original investment! What's wrong with that?

I would have to agree with your last comment regarding buying and selling art. Trouble is on the forum you are immediately called a flipper if you try to sell straight after release. If you leave it for a couple of months or so and then sell you fly pretty much undetected. Right or wrong?

No one cares why you're selling. The fact is, if you only come here to sell and never add anything of value to the forum, you can expect that people won't be pleased. This isn't an auction house, it's a forum that has a art for sale section - there's a big difference.

That's what ebay is for. If you want to sell on the forum at least try and have a bit of input into the forum not just see it as an ebay without fees! Constantly moaning about "FLIPPERS" isn't input you wally...it's simply annoying and makes you laugh look jealous and like you enjoy blocking deals! I've been collecting for 15 yours and never once sold a single piece I've bought but it does get to a point where you either buy something and never get round to framing it or simply don't like it once you've lived with it! For me, I've simply grown out of prints and only collect original works but as I've been in the game so long I still keep my ear to the ground with available work and get offered a great deal of stuff all of the time! Now I have kids I too wish to sell bits I just have lying around...be it old work or a print that is a week old!

It was not a new painting therefore not a flip, and since, Ive been overwhelmed with the support this board brings one another. its really a great place, but the outside reputation does lean towards buyers of art.
ps - dont flip in the same year the piece has released in unless its an emergency. ebay is a better source that way

The fact is...buyers, sellers, geeks or simple admirers are all here for one simple reason...we all love art!!!
Anyone "flipping" is doing so to fund a piece they really want! Yes, this is frustrating to the guy who wants the "flipped" piece but jeez, sh*t happens!! It's the internet age...therefore get savy and find a new way to get the prints you want! Queue in person, open several web pages, buy originals, get involved with the house producing the work, help out at a show, befriend the artist...ANYTHING!! All these are options...and most I have done myself!
Just plz stop moaning and trying ruin other people sale!
It just looks bitter.

I tend to agree with almost everything you say, with one exception.
I do think that when someone posts a fs thread within days of a sold out release, selling a piece at a hugely inflated price, often before the print is in hand, obviously out to turn a quick profit, when others missed out, they will and (in my opinion) should come in for some appropriate level of disdain. Those people should take their wares to eBay. It has always been thus on this forum and should continue to be so. This is, of course, just the way I personally feel about this. If I am wrong, so be it.
Your suggestions as to how to increase ones chances of securing a print are first rate. Long ago I stopped buying prints in favour of originals, with the odd exception now and then.
