New mau mau this week, by tygster on Dec 19, 2014 12:33:51 GMT 1, I did try to bend it a bit to see how much it would take. These things are massive so I don't think it is something that is easily done, but hopefully it can be flattened with a bit of patience.

New mau mau this week, by tygster on Dec 19, 2014 12:59:55 GMT 1, Yes, these are larger than photos suggest. Would probably be on top of shelf and not in for most.
You can always do some creative hanging. A small d.i.y shelf or a couple of nails for it to stand on.

New mau mau this week, by davievegas on Dec 19, 2014 17:13:50 GMT 1, Anybody else received theirs yet? Picked up mine from the post office yesterday and unfortunately it hadn't survived the journey unscathed. It's been bent, sticking up a couple of centimeters on either side when lying flat. The packaging was huge, but that doesn't help all that much when there is nothing stiffening it up.
This sounds aweful. I am still waiting for mine. What happens if we get it and its all bent just like this? Anyone know? Never dealt with that yet and I hope I never have too with plenty luck.

I'm a bit curious myself, but it is easy to see how there has been great forces involved. The pice has been pressed well into the styrofoam. I'm guessing that it has been transported with one of the edges on top of something and then something really heavy on top.

New mau mau this week, by tygster on Dec 23, 2014 10:08:50 GMT 1, It's not shipped with tracking. It's just stuck in between two pieces of plastic with a bit of styrofoam and a shitload of tape.
No declaration with information about content and value either which might be why it is taking it's time through customs. Probably not entitled to any insurance money from the shipper if it gets missing either.

Your saying it wasnt sent with any insurance as well? This is absolutely rediculous... Glad I used paypal to dispute it if I don't get it or if it comes damaged.

Why would I dispute it? Its their call to insure it? Well, if thats the case then I would def dispute it if it comes damaged or lost. Only thing that saves me from losing out on my money. That was a weird question by you. I would rather get my money back if it comes damaged or lost then wait another 3 weeks to a month for a new AP which is what I bought. The 3 weeks to a month is only IF mau mau made more then 1 of the one I purchased which I doubt he did.
First time buying from them and NO tracking# sent with NO info even when it was sent. I had to pm Jrallah to find out any info about this piece and it was nice of him to let me know that every one of them was sent. Just because you say they are good guys does not mean people should just be left out with no info about what they purchased. Now maybe it is normal in your opinion with buying things and sellers not send out any tracking info BUT I have not had any experience with this. Most things I buy have tracking info at least.
So far, the few people that got theirs have had mixed experiences with what they received. Some have been damaged. For first time buyers from souled out studios it is only normal to have these questions. From the looks of it with things getting damaged and with buyers left wondering where their purchases are, its only normal to worry.

Chill!
I have purchased many items from SOS, and as said before they are good guys. If your item doesn't come or is damaged then they will sort it. If it comes and is perfect then happy days. What more do you want? It's Christmas so expect a delay.

When you said dispute I took that as dispute through PayPal without contacting them first.
I've bought many things without receiving tacking info - all prints from pow don't come with it for example but your right I don't worry about it when it's from a reputable source
If yours did arrive damage I'm sure they'd be able to make another to replace it if there was no extra.

This was a response to feds "Why would I dispute it". Before that I asked has anyone received theirs besides the few that got theirs damaged. Once again, you said the same as him which was IF my item doesn't come or is damaged they will sort it out? What exactly does this mean because if it comes lost or damaged, I would rather get my money back. Everything is chill over here. Both you guys and your nonchalant answers to problems with damaged or lost items are astonishing.
Its not the end of the world I know BUT a little more professionalism is expected in my opinion from these galleries with how they handle shipments and giving buyers information or lack of info when spending hundreds of dollars if not thousands depending on what is being released. IT seems I am the ONLY one that thinks this way? This is happening more and more each year and its getting annoying now. When you package things in a crappy way, you expect damage period.
Also, its one thing if the BUYER chooses not to have insurance on items but if these sellers don't send purchased items with insurance, then I have to dispute purchased items if they come damaged or lost with paypal. I do not get it back because the gallery decided not to send my item with insurance. Anyway. This once again was a long response to a simple question which was has anyone else got theirs besides the few which was damaged.

New mau mau this week, by Justdave on Dec 23, 2014 21:04:44 GMT 1, I'm sure SOS will replace or refund as applicable. They are normally really good. If there is a problem and it becomes damaged, that is not their fault. And to then be like oh I want my money back then! If you wanted the artwork then why wouldn't you just let them sort it. Either way like you say, your covered by PayPal anyway and you have a long enough time to dispute. I'm just sticking up for SOS as they are one of the better sellers

I never said its their fault but since according to buyers who received their damaged items, they said there was no insurance with it. You don't think that is a MUST when spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on prints where its common to get things with damage to them? If it comes damage or lost then WHY would I wait another month or longer for them to send me a new one or make it right by waiting for the artist to make me a new one since this is not just a simple print. I can buy many other things with this money in the meantime.
ITs an AP some 1 of 1. Like I said, this was not meant at any attack on SOS. This started with a simple question which was "Did anyone else get theirs yet from the US". Then of course the keyboard warriors on here decided to make this a bigger deal. Not sure what it is on this board but when ANYONE questions any company that in the past has been good to deal with, they get attacked. Not needed. But yes, im covered which is all I said. Said glad I was covered in paypal if it was damaged or lost.

New mau mau this week, by Justdave on Dec 23, 2014 21:29:03 GMT 1, As for insurance then that's their problem not yours, so it makes no difference to you if its insured or not. Why would you wait? Because it's what you wanted In the first place. Let me ask you this, if you ordered a dolk or invader print and it came damaged and wasn't insured, then was offered a replacement. I bet you wouldn't ask for a refund instead.

I am not sure people on this board understand why people feel more comfortable buying with the option of insurance rather then not.
I guess this is where we differ. Obviously I would wait for a banksy or a print that I have wanted for a long time. But sometimes people implulse buy. Do I LOVE every purchase that I make no. Sometimes I like it at the time until I get it and am like 'Ehh its ok". Pictures do things justice much more then in person sometimes.
But lets use your analogy. Dolk or invader print. Its exactly what you said. a "Print". So I would not have to wait a long time to get a new one or for them to make it right. For an AP which is 1 of 1 and the very detailed work mau mau did with this specific piece is not something that is an easy fix. That is my POINT. This is not like a print.

New mau mau this week, by Justdave on Dec 23, 2014 21:50:30 GMT 1, As its a company then many things. Consumer rights, PayPal , credit card cover. And even if an item is insured, then it's only for the sender. Not for you! So the insurance would not cover YOU anyway.
Ok, so if dolk or invader made a 1/1 aluminium picture. Would you ask for a refund? Would you hell. You'd do your hardest to get another. As I know I would. lol

Its hard to compare mau mau AP to a dolk or invader 1 of 1. I get what your saying in theory but I feel people would have much more patience for dolk or invader. But yes, I would wait because its impossible to get a 1 of 1 from these guys without spending a small fortune. That would be the only reason. Some stuff is impossible to get these days and some is not which makes it more valuable I would think. I do not have a Invader or Dolk piece as of yet. I just got my first Dran or hoping it comes without damage or being lost as well.
