Anymore print releases ever?, by lovebanksy on Dec 7, 2014 15:38:32 GMT 1, Hi guys
Just wondering if there will ever be another Banksy print release?
I know there was meant to be a sparkling gorilla after CYW which got delayed then cancelled?
Anything else in the pipeline?
Thanks.

I think I'm living in a very misguided world, but I can't help but think that this isn't what he would have wanted - to be a status symbol of the well off. T here must be some proper t**ts out there who own his work who share none of the beliefs that he portrays in his art. about 80% of owners these days judging my a vox pop of teh board

It is sad , I'm happy im lucky enough to own a few banksys but the way the market is going normal people won't be able to own them soon as the lure of the big money may force them to sell . Also banksy most prob has a big Chelsea mansion now anyway so he probably not too bothered lol

but there were people in that queue who have kept the print - I am one.
the secondary market should be there for anyone who has the cash and missed out - it gives those a chance.
the only difference the secondary market prices today are a bit out of reach for most people.

Anymore print releases ever?, by Red Barron on Dec 10, 2014 13:27:56 GMT 1, If you really just love the art and can't pay current sticker prices, i would suggest keeping your eyes open for back door or damaged prints. I was able to buy a poorly framed Barcode a few months back and couldn't care less about it being "less than mint" as I just simply love the image.

Anymore print releases ever?, by thesewalls on Dec 11, 2014 6:20:16 GMT 1, This is Art. It is a luxury. He obviously cares about getting a message out, which has never embraced materialism. It's on the street right. The fact that people are so hung up with it is part of the same set of problems he continues to expose. It's not just about the man keeping us down. It's about choices. Perception. Control. Priorities. Art should be the last thing you're worrying about...unless you're using it as a way to bring about change...not covering your walls, like those same rich people who supposedly have a completely different set of beliefs.

I don't know man, the urge to own something rare is fundamentally consumerist, and - by implication - kinda antithetical the ideology put forward in a lot of Banksy's work. While I'd love intelligent collectors to own every great piece of art out there, part of me doesn't think it matters whether it's a random banker or a passionate street art aficionado dropping £15K on a print. Some art doesn't need to be owned.

Anymore print releases ever?, by raindogs on Dec 21, 2014 14:04:53 GMT 1, So one of the problems that prevent Bansksy to release new prints is to avoid flipping and making profit for greedy collectors? Just state that no change of ownership will be registered for, just to say, ten years. Or more extremely install a GPS detector connected with an explosive charge, so that when the print is removed from the registered location it will explode.

Anymore print releases ever?, by SW20 on Dec 21, 2014 19:06:37 GMT 1, You do have to ask why would he? if you want one there are plenty out there as it is and unless you have them all what do you need another one for?
un less of course he releases it well below market value which he has done in the past. Unfortunately after doing that most who bought them flogged them for an inflated profit thats aside from those that flipped them immediately. So I would imagine from his point of view . whats the point? or he releases at market value and everyone moans that there too expensive and he is only interested in the rich market.
which is probably why he still just does walls available to everyone for free no problems at all and then still sells canvases to his closed market for some revenue

Soup Cans, Monkey Parliament, and Save or Delete look great framed on my walls. Friends and family only know the name Banksy, not the value associated with these posters; eventually, I'll buy a piece with authentication from PC, but that time will come when it's time.
