Pure Evil Mel Ferrer's Nightmare 1/1 Destroyed By Framer, by Sturban Has Saggy Tits on Dec 10, 2014 10:39:41 GMT 1, Any Help would be much appreciated..
I had a unique H/F Pure Evil Mel Ferrer's Nightmare bought for me for my 40th B'day in the summer which I took to my local (award winning) framer, along with a Prince Philip's Nightmare.
I asked for them to be slightly float mounted in a white box frame with art glass, which the framer was happy to do.
I had a phone call a week ago, because she said that they were slightly buckling with the tabs, so she suggested to go with glueing them down.
I went to pick them up and nearly cried!  , they were both covered in scratches and marks, creased all around the edges and the 1/1 is full of condensation.
She stated that she had trouble trying to float them and would have been better mounted, as the paper was very thick.
I was totally lost for words and nearly crashed my car on the way home shouting obscenities, while getting very strange looks from passers by!! She said the 1/1 was already marked when I brought it in, but I have original pdf from PE to show they were fine.
When my partner came home from work, she went mad and phoned her up to find out what had happened and what she would do about it.
The framer said she was devastated for me and said she would help towards finding a replacement.
A long story short... I really want to replace the 1/1 Mel Ferrer's print to a similar style, as it was bought as a gift and I loved it.
It is a different size to the normal 70x85cm, as it measures 58x78cm.
I have searched the web, but cannot find anything!! 
So please, if anyone has one available to sell or know of anywhere to replace this, I would be truly grateful,(sorry for the long post)

Hope you find a suitable replacement. I'm sure someone was selling one recently too. Have you tried the search on 'For Sale' thread?
And I think you should name the gallery in question in case any forumites were looking to frame. Could save them from similar heartache.

Contact Pure Evil directly, he may be able to make you another one, he does plenty of "1/1" so sure he would be happy to create you another, failing that im sure he will have something else suitable he could offer to replace your ruined prints.

I was searching for mel ferrer's nightmare ed 100 in pink for a long time, at least it seemed long to me.. Then contacted PE and he made me an 1/1 1x1meter canvas in the same colourway as the print.. The artwork lightened up my life, nothing more to say ;-) plus canvas is thicker skin than a print ;-)

I've just put some work into a framers that I pick up tomorrow, haven't used them before and I wasn't overly impressed by the guy, when we got out the shop I just had a feeling I'd made the biggest mistake ever... Wanted to go back and get my art and run away from the shop, but I'm too much of a *****bag to go back in! So we shall see tomorrow!

It was a small framer, she has a workshop in her garden, so is a low risk to anyone on here! Probably why they got ruined initially, as I imagine the thick paper used by PE absorbed a lot of moisture prior to her framing them.
I was tempted to contact PE, but it's not a fault of his and it would feel like I'm asking him to do a cheap commision! (ยฃ400 is what it cost).
Thanks for the amazing gesture Mr Frameman, but would not expect you to do it for nothing!
I was tempted to use you initially, but worried about sending the work around the country and risk of damage (sounds silly now!!). I will pm you once I have sourced some new prints.
Hopefully I will do a deal to keep the frames, as they have anti ref glass in them, so would be silly to waste them.
I'm going to go up to London just after Christmas with the kids, so might pop over to PE if he is open at the end of Dec.

He uses a courier so it comes straight to my door! Never had a scratch on any of my pieces, they come well packaged!

I have been in contact with Pure Evil and spoke to Margot and she has said that they do not have anything like this left in stock, so are unable to help.
I am now trying to find out the cost for the 1/1 Mel Ferrer's for compensation.
Does anyone have any good ideas on the valuation of this print. I can't find another similar size print or design to go by.
This one measures 58cm x 78cm, black background, silver hair, white face, blue eyes and blue tear. It is classed as a double exposure on coa, as it is a mash up with Erik Fok's nightmare, but with only the one tear from the eye.
I think it is from 2012, but not sure exactly.
From looking at past sales on ebay, some of his recent 1/1 are selling for ยฃ800, but I would say this is much more desirable IMO.
Any help with a rough valuation would be much appreciated
