Gonzalo Borondo πͺπ¦ Spanish Glass Artist β’ Street Art, by Deleted on Feb 4, 2015 17:01:36 GMT 1, Not bitter in any way. Just amused by you. The other Borondo thread has got to be one of the funniest threads I have read on here. I have to give credit to one person(?), coller who was all over it like a boy on a mission: It all started so well especially when he said "Those tiny originals look like absolute crap." It then got better when he said "those little originals look like s**t. Like he wasn't trying, or purposefully tried to make them look aesthetically appalling."Just when I thought he might be swayed by public opinion he hit out with: "I don't disagree about the decrepit beauty; most these just look decrepit.""I'm sure there will be some amazing pieces at the show; those tiny originals simply aren't them."Then he nearly derailed the thread ... the less said about that the better. I applauded his comment "Not gonna just say things look good when I think they look crap though; part of having an opinion"
and another round of applause: "I do think that hype goggles are making some of you think that his bad pieces are good."and then after having secured a Borondo piece, the punchline "+1, can't lie; I love lotteries. If I don't like mine, I'll sell for face."Each to their own. Individual opinions are to be encouraged no matter how base or inarticulate. Was it all a masterly display of diversionary tactics to secure a piece? In the space of a few days coller really made an astonishing u-turn from critiquing Borondo's images in this show for not being classic Borondo, to being well on his way to becoming his biggest cheerleader by starting off a thread for those who secured the same piece as him. I blame the insidious nature of the board for reeling young renegades in - you had a strong ally in f backwards r. By the way this thread could prove useful as a swap club for members who wish to exchange their Alveare pieces - so well done. coller you were earlier described as a clown. You are so much more than that. You are a man for all seasons and an all round entertainer. Keep on being your contrary self and providing good cheer whether intentional or not. I hope you grow to love your piece Ugh, actually spending time responding to this.
1. In that first picture, 80% of them did look like s**t. If I receive one of those that I didn't identify in that first picture, it will 100% be resold on here.
2. In the PDF, the second set of Alveares looked great, surprisingly, so I considered purchasing; and then I did.
3. I don't see the flawed logic in buying something on the offchance you'll get one of the good ones, when you know you'll have the full ability to sell it back to someone on here if you don't like it. I enjoy keeping my options open.
4. Wasn't trying to play some game so you all don't buy the etchings; I hope you all have enough of your own personality and brain to make your own buying decisions.
5. Won't get into the Banksy thing, but it turned into a beautiful experience.
6. Yes, I think hype goggles are preventing the majority of you from critiquing his worst pieces, like the majority of the Alveare series, or the entire 'The Sights' series.
7. Your cool selection bias led you to conveniently leave out everything positive that I said about Borondo in that thread, including that glass etchings ARE "classic Borondo," a list of the 8-9 pieces that I loved from the Animals PDF, and more.
If you really have an issue, then don't buy my Alveare for 250GBP if I end up not liking it. Otherwise go back to jerking it to UAA and let this thread serve its purpose.

but its a bit off if they are allowing some to pick and others told its random.

Cheers. Anyone know the size of it? As we know sometimes free prints are understandably poor relations to the real deal but this info sounds promising. The Blek queue a couple of years back illustrated this, as loads of us queued for something that had been printed on Andrex. There was also the free Copyright print at PE which was on a postcard. Nevertheless if this is screen printed it must be on some kind of 'proper' paper.
