Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by tab1 on Dec 9, 2014 14:57:30 GMT 1, Pegasus looks familiar. Was he on X Factor? Does he work for Bambi? He's doing the right thing and looks like he just wants to be a gallery artist that sells through chintzy galleries in London etc to middle class dinner party types who see a stencil on a wall that he maybe painted with teh wall owners permission and buyers that go to his gallery shows see him as some sort of Young urban rebel. had to laugh tho that his gallery show sold tickets and they all sold out. Since when does a gallery that sells art, sell tickets? The height of pretentiousness.
It's Andy from made in Chelsea ;-)

Is it a case of buy a print and get a carpet for free or the other way round?

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Deleted on Dec 9, 2014 19:20:24 GMT 1, this is another bnaskhy/ cauty double bluff art happening - like brainwash & bambi, pegasus is a no talent vehicle for the anti graf movement - showing that you can indeed make money from old rope.
I confirm that that Jimmy Cauty is actually Banksy - another disinformation excursion from the KLF that got out of hand sorry if this is news, but there you go.
merry xmas.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by 11 on Dec 22, 2014 12:13:04 GMT 1, Some worrying times...I just heard Bambi did a BOTI yesterday and dropped a load of stencilled canvases at ridiculous (low) prices yet not one mention on here
Me thinks a few have some guilty pleasures they rushed home and secretly stashed under the bed
So come on, anyone get ...er..lucky...a full match report is definitely in order

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by Dr Plip on Dec 22, 2014 13:06:23 GMT 1, North Korea just emailed me this from Bambi's Twitter account:
"Bambi Street Artist β@bambiartist All sold out! Thank you everyone for your on going support and have a lovely Christmas!"
SOLD out?? The FB post said come and get yourself a gift. Were they for sale or were they gifts? Were they a steal? I'm confused. Anyway, some people got some. It says so on Twitter.

Actually quite like the red stars going round the figure, very original. Theres someone i "have" to buy a present for each xmas but im not fussed on them so one of these would have been perfect, wouldnt want to stretch as high as Β£25 though, ah well brut deodorant this year again.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by avec art on Dec 22, 2014 15:06:02 GMT 1, Why should you care about the Banksy 'market' so much? Isn't the fact his work has become so much about the market, that is half the trouble. It looks as though a lot of work goes into Bambi's stencils - I think there is no harm in trying to do something for yourself even if your ideas are not entirely original.

Isn't the fact his work has become so much about the market, that is half the trouble. It looks as though a lot of work goes into Bambi's stencils - I think there is no harm in trying to do something for yourself even if your ideas are not entirely original. To answer your first question I care as Banksy will always be the UK figurehead of a very significant art movement, and we are after all on the Banksy forum! Perhaps the work become "more about the market" simply because the artworks and shows during the past 15+ years have gradually become the thing of legend and many serious art establishments worldwide want to add Banksy works to their collections. ....... half the trouble with what exactly? Natural progression I would say. It just seems so very unimaginative to copy Banksys content, ideas and execution so blatantly yet so poorly. It appears a hell of a lot more work goes into the ridiculous Daily Mail style PR stories and ridiculous lies about who owns them. I agree there is no harm in trying to do something for yourself,..... although It doesn't reflect well on British art in general if these ideas are purely selfish indulgences without any originality and are falsely flaunted all over the press in comparison to one of the UK's most original and successful artists. But Hey each to their own an all that.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by adewilliams on Dec 22, 2014 16:19:49 GMT 1, would like to see Bambi experiment with traffic cones or maybe rework some oil paintings next. Really, really, really interested to see what she (is it a she? or he?) does next.
No one should be working today, I am and that is the only reason I'm commenting on this. I need to be at home with my feet up.
God this is utter crap

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by met on Dec 22, 2014 16:41:59 GMT 1, Quite like this one.
Google "Eddie Colla", whose work is already highly derivative:
1xrun.com/runs/Its_Only_Stealing_If_You_Get_Caught
Query what that makes your piece. Derivative of derivative of clichΓ©?
Bambi is the urban art answer to homeopathy, and probably appeals to a similar customer base.

Bambi π¬π§ Street Art β’ Print Release β’ Art For Sale, by eschiff on Dec 22, 2014 16:52:43 GMT 1, I don't get what the similarities are between her pieces and Banksy.
Banksy created his stall in NY selling his canvasses without any promotion as a commentary on the art market. Bambi set up a stall selling canvasses that were promoted on all social media channels and the was a sales driven tactic. You can't copy Banksy's stunt unless your art matters.
