I am amazed at the amount of emotion Stik can connect with a simple figure, I know He gets his fare share of doubters and knockers but my wife actually cried when she opened it and my then 3 yr old son instantly pointed out the four of us in the painting as has everyone else that's sees it.
Thats the magic of his art. One can use thousands of brush-strokes or dozens of colors and stencils and fail to evoke the same. My family loves Stik. It's not dumbed down, rather universal.

I was looking at the portrait he did for someone's son a page or two back and trying to figure out what pose I would do. Maybe have my arms up but them and my upper body leaning like I'm stretching to the side. The possibilities are endless! Lol

It was inspired by lovers but with some minor changes - female character is shorter than the male and the hands are in different positions. I wanted a 'warm' red instead of the blue of the print also. |
