$10 Semi-Custom Framing for Blur/Banksy 7" Record, by Oski on Jan 5, 2015 20:34:09 GMT 1, Really like the image of Banksy's Kids on Guns Hill and it happens to have been used by Blur for the cover of their limited red vinyl 7" Good Song single.  Having spent only £20 on the record, it really doesn't make sense for me to spend $150 to have it custom framed.  But since it's going on the wall, I still wanted it to look good.  So I set out to a couple of art supply stores for frames and came across the MCS acrylic box frame for $5. 

Besides being cheap in price, it's cheap on quality as well.  The backing is a flimsy thin cardboard box that would press the album against the inside of the plexi with nothing else to keep it in place. 



So I bought foam board and mounting squares and had a go at customizing the frame.





I'll have the option of using 3M velcro wall hangers on the side tabs or a nail for the top.



Getting a shadowbox to give depth to the piece.  The mounting squares also raise the record off of the back board for a float mount.



So for $10, it'll look fairly proper and presentable for the wall.
