I disagree, it was/is a weak piece, his weakest 2D one at PPP... I still love it, but it's hard to stand up to his other works...

I agree, would have been there myself if I thought I could get it for a sub £20k price.

Bonhams • Art Auctions • London 🇬🇧, by veralynn on Feb 5, 2008 22:13:32 GMT 1, As a sweeping generalisation (and I'm good at them) I think the auction results serve to prove that the market is wider than we thought, that deals between members are 'deals' and also that e-bay isn't the market barometer that we sometimes think that it might be. So all good right???

Bonhams • Art Auctions • London 🇬🇧, by funster on Feb 5, 2008 22:15:18 GMT 1, lot 29 neate - after the last auction result - only underlines some Neate work is poor. And some street work - is good / great. fickle world eh ? .. Lot 29 was arguably the weakest original at PPP. £43,200 is still quite a good profit - especially for such a 'less desirable' Neate original.
Hiya RBK Thanks for that, I agree with you

just a quick thought on possible price rises -
all this talk of recession, plummiting markets, still alot of rich people with money in property, property may not be such a good investment as it has been over the past 10-15 years, so anyone on the ball is cashing in and looking to a worldwide market which is more versatile, fast growing and becoming more recognised by the day = the urban art world!!!!!
just a quick unconsidered thought

if this will happen it will damage the market even more as nothing will sell, but if people are sensible, then faith can be restored to the ebay market

Recession, or falling markets, have always represented a great opportunity for cash rich people - and right now there's plenty of them to keep such markets very healthy indeed.

Guy Denning - Icarus Canvas
Must be worth £15k - Never.....I do not believe these prices (not literally).
As for Neate's street pieces if one of those can go for £8.5k then my gift piece is priceless.
Adam Neate - Gift Piece
Surely this has to be a case of Galleries and Agents bidding up their artists?

Highlights for me was watching the 'Bomb Middle England' (unsigned) go for £11k, the Kate Moss screenprint go for £82k and the two Nick Walker's smashing their estimates. Too many more to mention (it's time to catch up on what has been said here, very interested to read everyone's thoughts!).
