Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by johnnyh on Apr 17, 2013 19:30:32 GMT 1, The reserve price is an amount agreed with the seller that below the agreed price the lot will not be sold.
it technically can be above the low estimate but usually the low estimate or just below is the reserve price.
sellers usually know the guide estimate prices the auction house will set eg low estimate price then may be set at 2800 or 2500. This is useful as if an auction is not going well or poorly attended the auctioneer may start with low bids to get things going etc.

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by Deleted on Apr 17, 2013 20:03:39 GMT 1, A couple of bargains to be had such as the EINE LOVE/HATE & Circus A-Z canvases.
BIGGEST BARGAIN of the day...
Shep Fairey was a steal on steel for Β£750 from an edition of 2 from 2007.
Especially considering that the signed Obama poster from an Ed of 5000 sold for almost four times that at Β£2500

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by anodyne13 on Apr 17, 2013 20:57:52 GMT 1, I posted thsi somewhere else, but basically, take 40-45% off the final price including premium to see how much the seller nets out.
15% buyers premium + 1.5% damage cover + 20% VAT on the fees = 19.8% on the sellers side
+ 25% buyers premium
For a total of almost 45% on the auction price, if I had a more expensive piece the total would be closer to 40%.

Bonhams β’ Art Auctions β’ London π¬π§, by craigf on Apr 17, 2013 21:30:00 GMT 1, Lot 36 JosΓ© ParlΓ‘ (b. 1973) Untitled Β£5250 Damn that is cheap and someone got a bargain!!! That was almost me, but was under bidder. It was a really lovely example, but timing of the auction was poor for me and although tempted to move my bid up I was conscious I am looking for a stand out piece (which maybe in many ways this is) and that it would have meant I had less money to spend on it.
Banksy prices were in some cases pretty good for the buyer (Stop & Search, Rude Copper) others went pretty high such as the Gangsta Rat

What do you want to know about the LN? It was signed with COA, bought or gifted from Banksy a while back. I really liked the inscription, one of my favourite classic Banksy's

I think he's quite funny, I think his work is funny in a lol way too, I think an auctioneer laughing before auctioning it is also funny. Didn't mean to offend.
