Passed on this, after picking up the Soup Can I feel like any more than £1.50 for one of his works is too much

Whether it's a cast with decayed portions or literally a plastic cast for stuff like this?

Passed on this, after picking up the Soup Can I feel like any more than £1.50 for one of his works is too much how hard would it be to replicate his work? Whether it's a cast with decayed portions or literally a plastic cast for stuff like this? I've got no idea to be honest, I think more goes into it than what's apparent maybe.
I've seen in interviews he's talked about having to spend a long time getting the plaster mix right to carry the crystals he casts into it and to crumble in the way he wants. Which sounds plausible to me from the very small amount of time I've worked with plaster, there is a science to it.
I have no idea about these plastic molds, they seem pretty simple technically but maybe theres something I'm not seeing.
Love his ideas though. Went to the Selfridges pop-up he did with the fossilised porsche, very cool.

Sure thats true. But i think a arstist shouldn't be judged on how easy it can be replicated

Well the Future Relics is his concept and it's pretty original, at least in the way he presents it.
I'm also not saying he's anywhere near Haring but he does interesting work.

But i think a arstist shouldn't be judged on how easy it can be replicated Not really judging, it was just a curious question. But sure, I suppose if I could find a DIY for something like this for $50 and then replicate the process to whatever I wanted, it would probably deter me from spending 500 dollars for a fancy box to accompany it.
Arsham has always been hit or miss with me. I'm looking forward to the Dior Clock possibly.
