He shouldn’t sell this for anything less than 3000. Why? 3k sounds a lot of money for an edition of 500. Most of his other 1/500 sculptures are selling for much less than that on the secondary market. |

I've seen in interviews he's talked about having to spend a long time getting the plaster mix right to carry the crystals he casts into it and to crumble in the way he wants. Which sounds plausible to me from the very small amount of time I've worked with plaster, there is a science to it.
I have no idea about these plastic molds, they seem pretty simple technically but maybe theres something I'm not seeing.
Love his ideas though. Went to the Selfridges pop-up he did with the fossilised porsche, very cool.

Arsham has always been hit or miss with me. I'm looking forward to the Dior Clock possibly.

But sure, I suppose if I could find a DIY for something like this for $50 and then replicate the process to whatever I wanted, it would probably deter me from spending 500 dollars for a fancy box to accompany it. Arsham has always been hit or miss with me. I'm looking forward to the Dior Clock possibly. |
