No, not really.
Deciding to buy or to not buy Marmite simply comes down to whether or not one likes the taste. There are no issues of morality, ethics, or "right and wrong" that enter the equation when making such a decision. Likewise, Marmite purchased at a grocery store will always have provenance.
Reading the 'Question & Answer' section of this eBay listing shows that the seller, west-side-prints (is this westley?), is confusing the distinction between provenance and authentication.

The seller is in no position to make the claim he has made of "it is the same as the numbered edition same paper same print everything it was printed by pow at the same time as the numbered run".
If his print has no provenance, it could have been printed a few months ago in someone's bedroom for all he knows.
