I'm after some advise regarding buying a Banksy print.
someone is selling an u/s print - they don't have any prov or receipt, saying that it was bought through ebay from art republics shop.
I'm new to the world of Banksy prints and I'm looking to buy a couple. From being on this site for a few weeks, its clear that full prov is the most ideal situation.
Are there any checks I can make to ensure the print is genuine - I would hate to shell out a grand or so on my first print only to find out in years to come it was a dude. any other advise would be appreciated.
and by the way - I am actually after "rude copper", so if in the unlikely event someone has one for sale, I maybe interested.

I know when I spoke to Dora about the two prints I bought from POW she did confirm that they were registered to AR and I know that AR have my name on file and I still have the invoice from them. I would ask for the person you are buying off to show them their Ebay history for starters and their paypal account should also show that they bought it from where they say they have.

And this was, to my knowledge, true until the warning from POW last week. Now there are several prints faked, old and new, and with receipts, blindstamps, numbering and signatures. POW knows and are hopefully investigating. If I was about to buy a print from Ebay now, I'd demand hi-res pix of the print quality, stamp, numbers and sig.

POW called me today to let me know that they have recently been presented with more than one fake Laugh Now print.
The prints are on substandard paper that is far thinner than the proper paper. Some prints had a replica POW blind stamp. All buyers had been given a photocopy of the same tomtom receipt made out to the same person.
If you have recently purchased a Laugh Now that came with a photocopy of a tomtom receipt please pm me for further instructions.
Always exercise extreme caution and ensure you make all the appropriate checks before parting with your cash.
Can someone please copy this over to the Banksy.info as well as I'm not a member there.
