Home insurance - banksy, by londonfx on Jan 17, 2015 13:53:55 GMT 1, Here's another thread on my banksy quest
You guys have been great and helped me cover a few topics already in other threads. Like...
Condition of prints Authenticating Bankys prints
Now there's the issue off getting it covered by your home insurance.
I can add it to my home insurance with no problem and they are happy to cover it for the full amount. If I were to make a claim, they would need an official valuation of the print.
Is this something that a local gallery could do? Are pest control set up to make valuations as well? Does the gallery need to see the print in person to value it?
Thanks for any help you can offer

Just name the artist & work, tell them how much you value them at (current market value) and you're done…
Or go with a specific art insurance policy, these two provide what you need.

Home insurance - banksy, by londonfx on Jan 17, 2015 18:37:50 GMT 1, Thanks for the info. The problem isn't with getting the print insured. It's getting a valuation. I'll try and contact some galleries and see if they can help

Home insurance - banksy, by Deleted on Jan 19, 2015 21:07:16 GMT 1, My home insurance is with Directline Select and initially i provided what i believed was cost to replace and they cover for that value should the worst happen. I have increased values each year at annual renewal and again they take my own valuations and amend premium accordingly but the incremental cost to me was a few pounds only if anything. They also insure any purchases i make from point of payment which i only found out about after i had paid FL about £200 insurance to ship a print from London !!!
