Banksy prints now available @Laz, by Deleted on Jan 23, 2015 16:40:40 GMT 1, yesterday I posted that people who are long Bnasky for financial gain, will be now be seriously considereing dumping whilst the market is still receptive. if you have the nerve, hold your fire. them prices will be coming down expect to see this forum flooded with Bnaskey in the coming months Meh not going to happen, at worst it will stabilize for a few months....I really don't think people realize the level that Banksy is on or the market share that he has, it's not like anything that we have seen "print" and "OG" wise in a very long time. On top of that, out of the small edition size of prints lets take into consideration that were printed, how many are left in salable condition? etc.... Let's see where Bonhams takes us next week.

Banksy prints now available @Laz, by smokey on Jan 23, 2015 19:42:40 GMT 1, It's Friday here in NYC, is it Friday over there yet hahah I'm actually on my way to NYC at the moment... maybe I'm just grumpy because there's going to be a blizzard tomorrow. or maybe because of some recent artwork inquiries (not just Banksy) are literally making me nauseous. just got offered a doodle (literally) by an artist I like very much, and who's artwork until very recently was reasonably priced.. price offered (from source!) 1000 EUR. for a doodle that's basically just a stick figure and probably took the artist 2 seconds to scribble. what have we become?!

As for the banksy market, realistically how much more can unsigneds inflate? We've been in a rapidly expanding period, there naturally has to be slow down. The banksy market is totally different to any other urban artist though it has to be said.

(FWIW i always thought CYW was grossly overvalued, never makes sense to me. yea there are small editions, but it's the same image just w/ a different color and there are like a thousand of them; some of the colors look a bit shit too and the image isn't very deep).

Have to keep in mind that email was also just 6 months after the CYW release and most had every reason to expect releases to continue as usual. No one could have forecasted a 5 year freeze. Knowing the market, it was probably just the same print, being sold over and over again.
