Dran Show • Public Execution, London 2015, by JayJones on Feb 23, 2015 22:49:37 GMT 1, thought i would share a couple of signatures which dran obliged at the show close - on the back of a showcard and scrap cardboard that had been used as a paint palette for one of the wall pieces.

Dran Show • Public Execution, London 2015, by maxf on Feb 23, 2015 22:54:06 GMT 1, Dran chatted through a few of his works with me, including this one (which is why I want to track down a copy).
It's a funny one, and dark. I'm not sure how much was lost in translation, but he said the lion was him, or like him. The gazelle represents a woman, and the marks are because 'you sometimes have to fight/push with a woman to get together'.
While I'm at it: The upside down clown was painted like that to show how we see things from our own view point - to the clown we are all upside down. He painted it as a clown as he used to draw clowns when he was small - also the clown was upside down as that was the only way the frown could look like a smile. Finally, he said it was a challenge to remind everybody that it wasn't a canvas which he has turned upside down, and it had to be painted upside down.
The dove and crow were something he saw when he was walking around. He saw a dove and a crow both eating the same disgarded food and he saw them as a male and female sharing food - when normally they should be afraid of each other.
A fun conversation and the first time I've ever wished I'd paid attention in French at school.

So, I assumed it was something in that and obviously the front cover.

Dran Show • Public Execution, London 2015, by Blakeies on Feb 23, 2015 23:11:29 GMT 1, Artist can release whatever he wants as he is an artist. Tastes differ. Imo Sunset is one of his best prints and for me one of the best pieces from the recent show. Wall friendly in one respect but also like so many Drans, it's dark and filled with semiotic meanings. I'm going to be the first and ask the question - how are people framing this?...White box frame?
letiss yep I was thinking white frame. Just trying to decide with or without a white mount and coloured inner mount.

I think I'll plump for black box, possibly no mount letiss to allow the boldness of the colours to show. Won't be for a few weeks though as we've a house move to contend with first. Great meet you the other day. Let us hope this is the return of Dran and the first of a few releases.

i did not even go to the show so am lacking in dranness and certainly would not have been able to post a photo of something i dont even have - on saturday afternoon for that matter, which is when that listing went on.
How about an apology curiousgeorge, you should know better than to read what a pro sheep sniffer writes.

Dran Show • Public Execution, London 2015, by Sturban Has Saggy Tits on Feb 26, 2015 22:46:22 GMT 1, Does anyone know if any of the original sketches dran painted on board and paper from this show will be put up for sale. I would never be able to afford one, but was just interested. People were talking at the start of the show about purchasing a wall space, but I presume this never happened did it?

they sell originals behind the scenes thats clear then make affordable prints for everyone else.
