Post up some more work on here; never seen that monkey before and love it Monkeys "Smile" and "Frown" are from a limited 25 edition. They were handed out to people on his long, long waiting list as far as I know. They were painted and shipped about 2 weeks ago. |

There's also a series of 5 monkeys with the banana changing colour IIRC |

I simply don't get this. You are an artist and some of your works exhibit a lot more thought than this and with your skills could easily have made one yourself. In your own words "no offence" but I have read your post 5 times and don't really get what you are on about. I'm not having a go at you, but I really don't get your train of thought from your knowledge of art in general, CastleGalleryNi as a stepping stone, commissioned works, pissing contests etc
A lot of people here have appreciated what kunstrasen has been doing, enough that they have bought one / many canvases, and are happy to show them. I am one of those people, and I really don't see the pissing contest here

The artists in this case, Kunstrasen and Ernest Zacharevic, came up with these ideas, not me. I'd rather have a piece handmade by the person who's idea it was in the first place. I can go to my studio right now and make a Warhol soupcan if I wanted to, but I'd much rather have one he made (wouldn't we all?)
(not that it really matters, but the "Destroy" piece was a gift - I didn't pay for it)
as for your second post, I purchased these canvases because I liked them, not because I hoped they'd be worth money one day. Same as with everything I buy. I really don't like the business part of the art world. I try to ignore it as best I can. But Andy at Castle Gallery is a great guy, so I can only imagine good things happening from their new partnership

I don't think it's rude at all. I appreciate civil discourse . Yes, I could have made these myself. I can also make myself Banksy canvases (which I do all the time ), but when I look at them, I know they aren't the real deal.
