Annoyed by unconfirmed address buyers on ebay, by reznyce on Feb 10, 2008 22:14:13 GMT 1, Those of you who sell on ebay are probably familiar with this situation. You put a piece on ebay. In the description you emphasize that you will not sell to bidders who do not have confirmed ebay addresses. An as^%ole bidder with an unconfirmed address bids and wins. You refund his money and now have to go through the trouble of re-listing and having ebay refund the listing/final value fees.
I don't understand why ebay does not do something about this. It's an easy solution. All they have to do is add an option to the listing feature allowing sellers to limit bidders to those with confirmed paypal addresses. This is an easy thing for ebay to do especially since it owns paypal.
I think we should all write to ebay requesting this feature. Any thoughts?

Nope... part of shady ass paypals 'terms of use' agreement states if your account goes into a negative balance for any reason, they have the right to withdraw that sum from the bank account its linked to. This means if someone complains to paypal and the transfer is reversed... it doesn't make any difference if you left it in your paypal account or move it to your bank, they will still take it back. Thats why paypal sucks (google that phrase if you want to see the hundreds of complaints against them).

Annoyed by unconfirmed address buyers on ebay, by alsbabar on Feb 11, 2008 0:26:58 GMT 1, i am more inclined not to use paypal for any sales - not only does paypal protect the buyer more than the seller, its charges for the level of service is pretty poor.
They reversed a bank transfer on my account - simply because they say I have reached a limit, they are trying to get my to use their Postage Delivery service to lift this restriction

How do I do that? I just looked on the site and don't see that option.

Annoyed by unconfirmed address buyers on ebay, by hollywouldifhecoul on Feb 11, 2008 4:09:57 GMT 1, OK . . . so I'm a moron. I've sold ONE item on ebay EVER. But I currently have a high priced bicycle listed. What does shipping to an unconfirmed address have to do with it? I'm being serious. I am completely ignorant to the ways of ebay.

Pay pal do not have the right to take money out of your bank account. If a charge back is issued and it goes against you then they ask you to re store your balance. They can, how ever, if you dont re store your balance, send the baliffs round. But also it all depends on what the dispute is over. The items should have to be returned first to the seller then its taken from there. Also there is a scam going on at the moment with e bayers in the states buying items form europe and sometimes, weeks later saying they are not as discribed and they want a refund. A friend of mine sold a TAG watch to some one out in the states and a couple of weeks later the buyer said it had scratches on the face, they argued the claim for a while then my friend offered to re found the money, he did this but never got the watch sent back-sod's...he has made a complaint to pay pal and issued a charge back but pay pal are saying it could take six months to get any kind of settlement.
