I ordered Everybody Needs Somebody (grim reaper), with no idea whatsoever as to how I was gonna put it up (I was thinking just wire hooks into the wood in the back and then up on the wall).

Pictures will come once framed Iโm afraid. I love the โhow to be lovedโ - great choice.
It has itโs own hanging wire at the back if you want to put it up โrawโ and it will hold itself just fine.
But it also has a wooden structure at the back that allows you to mount it in a frame as you would mount a canvas (big improvement relative to the โsound of uzisโ on bricks that requires quite some creativity for framing - just brought that to frame too, together with a Banksyโs box set that was yet another puzzle for my framer).
Since I wanted UV protection for it (it ainโt oil or acrylic, so light is not itโs friend I think), I went for a minimalist black box frame with black background and anti reflective UV glass. Will post a picture once ready (next year...).

I think you are right about the binder indeed. The solvent (what carries the pigment) I guess is different (itโs basically water in what we refer too as acrylic paint, but I think water is not a great idea for spray paint - it corrodes metal). So I think that (beside the propeller) the composition of the two is actually quite different.
Somehow I always thought that durability of spray paint is inferior to acrylic - but if Iโm wrong it means that I massively overspent on framing through the years ๐
Would like to hear about it from somebody that, unlike me, actually knows something about chemistry.

Hmm havenโt the slightest idea to be honest. Was told once that there wasnโt much need to worry about UV on my canvases because they were spray painted and that itโs acrylic ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ. Would also be interested to know for sure..

Well the black wood frame was quite cheap, 35 โฌ I think.. As the size of mine is exactly 40 x 39.5 it hat to be manufactured, because 40 x 40 would have left too much space on one two sides of the concrete background..
I did the framing by myself, just taped two more wood pieces on the backside (which is enough, as the frame is super light and the tape carries a lot of weight) and attached the frame with 4 screws onto the new wood pieces.. That's it. Super simple solution, but in my eyes it makes to artwork look even better than before...
Please share your solutions if you decide to frame it!

If you feel comfortable that you are optimising your opportunities by handling your affairs by yourself, then continue. I am just considering trajectory and plans over the next few years, and when you have less time, become stretched with projects, and do a couple of group and solo exhibitions, the quality of the support is just as important. 100%, Im working with some galleries for future projects and will continue to pick up the right people along the way.
That would make sense, I've never met an artist that would not prefer to be affiliated with a gallery. The best self-taught artist out of Trenton, NJ's soup kitchen has a gallery. The funky can barely read folk artists of the south have galleries. You must have some type of artist statement that you send to galleries, how about posting it?

Theres plans with at least 3 galleries this year, theres no written statement, just a body of work. They found their way to me, so theres always more than one way to find each other. |

Thankfully TABBY sent it ready to hang so it can be displayed before being brought over to the framer! Very happy with this one |
