Question for US based collectors regarding currency...., by Deleted on Feb 19, 2015 1:12:35 GMT 1, One reason is that ยฃ Sterling is strong against the dollar and so is the โฌ Euro (altho one day the euro could devalue drastically).
So I would imagine that UK and European buyers would see Dollar prices and think because their currency is strong against the dollar that now is a good time to buy because if the dollar strengthens it means they made a good purchase.

Question for US based collectors regarding currency...., by bejwee77 on Feb 19, 2015 5:12:09 GMT 1, Only consideration I'd offer is that PayPal converts at a less-than-favorable rate than the actual exchange. They basically line their pockets with another 3% on USD-GPB.
It shouldn't be enough to scare off a truly interested buyer, but unfortunate nonetheless for PayPal users in a different currency.

Question for US based collectors regarding currency...., by nullvoid on Feb 19, 2015 6:16:55 GMT 1, American here (living abroad). I frequently purchase intl' and it's gotod practice to list in your country's currency. It'll help reinforce the fact it's coming from abroad (with associated time and cost) and possibly save some confusion and headache. ( also a graphic designer and it's just good ui/ia).
It is also important to consider how you intend to payment process. PayPal has been mentioned but credit cards haven't. If you purchase in an intl currency your cc will often have associated currency conversion fees. ( some cc's don't have this fee only charging a conversion rate.) If you list in dollars but eventually charge in another currency you might have some irate customers. Ultimately, considering your visitors, most of them will be familiar with browsing products listed in different currencies so they should be proactive and knowledgeable enough to convert to their home currency.

Question for US based collectors regarding currency...., by Deleted on Feb 19, 2015 6:39:03 GMT 1, Id say listing the currency in the country they ship from is best. If you list in USD, they may think it ships from US, etc. Transparency is awesome. Good luck!

Agree, a UK company selling in $ would make me think it's a scam site. You may end up with a stronger UK sale base anyhow, expensive shipping to US but suppose it depends on the price you are selling for in the first place

You can set it up to display in different currencies if that helps the buyer to understand the cost better. Seen that on a few sites but there's an explanation on shopify docs.shopify.com/support/settings/general/can-i-use-multiple-currencies-in-my-store
