Annoying e bay removals at last minute, by cakeboy on Feb 13, 2008 23:44:48 GMT 1, Keep getting this on everything i bid on recently can anyone explain ..its so annoying !
The listing in which you were a bidding participant:
270210454977 - Micallef- PEACE KEEPER and MINOTAUR MATCHING #'s banksy
has been ended by eBay. Since the listing was ended by eBay, for the transaction itself is null and void.
To protect the privacy of all eBay members, we can't discuss the details of the listing removal. We hope this assures you that your account information will also remain private.
If the seller relists the item, you are welcome to bid on it again.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you for your understanding.
Regards,
Customer Support (Trust and Safety Department)

Annoying e bay removals at last minute, by mattheww2 on Feb 14, 2008 0:08:18 GMT 1, The whole keyword scamming thing is a joke!... I have had an auction cancelled (two days before it ended) because I used "Urban Art like Banksy" in the title... but 1000's seem to make it to the end with Banksy/Micallef/Neate/etc. in the title... and now all the lurkers who were watching but not bidding, have disapeared as they must think it was a dodgy piece (or can't find it now).... Arrrrgggggggghhhh!
Do you have to be grassed up by someone to be pulled or is it just random luck? anyone in the know about this?

Annoying e bay removals at last minute, by mattheww2 on Feb 14, 2008 0:10:30 GMT 1, While I having a rant, they have also pulled items several times that I have paid for a BIN, then they remove it and say you don't need to pay now.... very helpful seeing as how I have already paid!
Think I better stop ranting now (feel hnoured as have just got second star)

ICBW but I think they probably have filters which highlight listings with words like 'like' and 'not' in the title as they are obviously keyword spamming, whereas stuff seperated by just slashes is more difficult to police as it can be used legitimately (within their 'rules') for things like magazine listings, or acts appearing on a compilation cd.

I know a little about key word spamming. The listing only gets removed if another e Bayer complains about the listing. E bay do not have the time to monitor every sale and only act on issues that are brought to their attention by other e bay users. So if some one has it in for you or is selling a similar item then they can make a complaint about you. key word spamming is if you use the name of the artist or maker more than three times or if you use a famous persons name in your listing to make the listing seem more attractive. But the bottom line is some one has to complain first to e bay for the listing to be removed. And take it from me there are some nasty fuckers out there as it happened to me a few years back and i kept on listing the item and it kept getting removed. In the end i e mailed e bay and they told me all of the above.

Annoying e bay removals at last minute, by seidbereit on Feb 14, 2008 8:43:56 GMT 1, I thought you could use Banksy / Neate / Micallef in your item description if your auction also included something by them ie. a sticker or whatever, I think it can even be something really useless like "free sheet of A4 with the names of all these artists printed on it!!"
In that case even if someone has it in for you and reports your item there's nothing ebay can do about it as it's part of the auction and therefore legit to mention it in the heading.

You can mention it as you want BUT if some one complains to e bay and you have over used the word, lets say Banksy, then they have to remove it. but they normally dont care and moniter this, its only if some one brings it to their attention. Take a look at the site map or e mail them they will tell you. You can only use the artist or makers name three times. Most people will use it more and e bay dont care. BUT if some one complains they have to remove it then they tell you to change your discription.

Annoying e bay removals at last minute, by cakeboy on Feb 14, 2008 11:02:16 GMT 1, I think we should start a thread .... " lets abolish snitches from ebay" .... how annoying are they !
its not only annoying for the seller as they have removed the item but for the buyer also who has sat there and had the time to snipe the said item ,,, e bay choose to remove it after the auction has finished . this should be done well before the end ... there wasting all of our time !
