In one image and it's subsequent release scheme, she has encapsulated everything that is wrong with the "street art" world today.

If I wanted to see a mountain or a weird lady posing in front of a mountain with a beguiling smile, I would go to said mountain, sit a lady in fron of it and stare. Da vinci, you cash grabber. |

Its a really cheap way to have a photo by a legend of the 'scene'. The image is of one of the best 'shows' ever put together and as I couldn't see it in the flesh, this is a bit of a no brainer for me.
Its not The greatest piece ever but for 120 euros, I can't see the downside.

Maybe it is not clear that the show is "The history of street art from the 70s to today through the shots of the legendary American photographer Martha Cooper." I think the Ghetto 4 Life picture has been chosen by the gallery as a symbol of "modern Street Art". please stop saying bullshit. I would never buy a photo of a Banksy street piece taken by mr nobody; Martha is over 70 years old and lived the street art from day one, in the street, not in the gallery. please stop talking shit about an institution like Martha Cooper on a street art forum, is really embarrassing. She is not Mrs nobody. |

This would be considered a bonus that it features a Banksy image. Street art photography is what she's best known for and I don't think it's realistic to expect Banksy's work to be off limits.
I don't know if members on here would get slated if they tried to sell signed photographs of street art. They probably just wouldn't sell? But Martha Cooper isn't just a member on here.
I can't comment on whether the price was high (it has sold out), but if Martha Cooper is to be criticized for cashing in on street art, then there are also a lot of book publishers, magazines, and websites out there that deserve the same critical attention.
I guess as with most things in this shallow world we inhabit, vote with your wallet.
