JR in-person for "Les Bosquests" Q&A in NYC, by Matt on Mar 31, 2015 19:31:02 GMT 1, Thanks for the heads up, I'm sure this will be a great film.
I am biased as I love and own quite a bit of JR's work, but his movies showing the thought process and artist's work are usually very interesting.
That first photo you posted is very strong. The light, nimble and beautiful ballerina flying away contrasting with the dreadful, massive Montfermeil buildings...

JR in-person for "Les Bosquests" Q&A in NYC, by Feral Things on Apr 1, 2015 12:59:30 GMT 1, From Social Animal's Vimeo: "The film Les Bosquets brings the audience in a place where art and the power of image interweave. Based on the story of Ladj Ly and the performance of the ballet Les Bosquets of New York City Ballet (2014) inspired by the riots in the French suburbs in 2005, JR reveals its experience in the ghetto of Montfermeil where he created his first project, Portrait of a Generation. This film is a continuation of this 10 years project, for which he uses various means of expression and narration: video archives, choreography and testimony. This short film will be presented exclusively in galleries and museum shows."

What's superb clip. Thanks feral. Love the bit where all the costumes make the pair of eyes. Didn't see it coming, though thought afterwards that I should have. JR is a genius.
